A few friends are gathering and are planning a trip around the world--of EPCOT. we thought it might be fun to stop in each country for a libation (drink)from each land and a chapeau (hat).
Any suggestions or opinions on the best from each country -- drink :drinking1 and/or hat :earsboy: ?
Thanks.

I remember seeing a thread over on the restaurants board on ice wine and Canada that was interesting enough for me to add a stop in Canada to my upcoming trip to see if I can try it...I believe there was also a thread on the Margerita stand in Mexico...

You may want to run a search over on the restaurants thread and see what you can find. :goodvibes

Bottoms-up! :drinking1 And, tops-on! :) Have a great trip!

There have been some changes in the last year so this may be subject to modification. In the British area, where we start, we have a Tennants Lager in the Rose & Crown, see below. Someone said that Tennant's was taken out this Spring but is back now. If no Tennant's, Stella Artios is plan B and we're going to sample Boddington's in March. In Canada we stick with LaBatts but I seem to remember having a MooseHead with dinner this Jan. In Mexico, Dos Equis or Corona when available, Norway got rid of Ringnes so it's Carlsborg now. Germany had Beck's the last time we were there, Morocco features Casablanca, Japan I thing has Ichiban and Supporo (sp), I don't know the name of the Chinese brew but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. We had a beer with our Italian dinner in Italy but the name escapes me and I don't know if France has one. I've never had a drink in the American pavilion, I'm exposed to that fare on a daily basis. As for hats, you're on your own.

China had two beers the last time I was there. Once was Tsing Tao & its very good. Can't remember the other though. Have Fun!

On our Honeymoon DH and I did the same thing and it was probably the most fun we had while we were there. My ABSOLUTE fave is the Kier Royale at the France Pavillion. We stopped at Mexico first where we got Margarita's. We also got big beers in Japan, Germany, & England. We wanted to get a glass of wine in Italy but were disappointed to realize they don't have a kiosk. That's all I can remember but it took alot of time to drink all that alcohol and we definitely got a little buzzed, but we had such a good time doing it!

When we went it was "drinking around the world". They had a passport type paper that you could get stamped for each country you went to. Kinda like the Kidcot stations I guess for adults! LOL

We did it quite a few times over the year....but we split drinks for money reasons.

With the hats....you are on your own. I say purchace some 50 year Mickey Ears and be done. LOL...Just kidding.

I certainly wouldn't buy a hat from each country (what a waste of money!). But I think it might be fun to buy one hat to wear on your drinking fest.

Some options -

Mounty hats from Canada (I think they had them)
Bobby hats from UK (their police men hats)
Berets from France
Fez's (you know with the tassle) from Morrocco
Those Peter Pan type green hats from Germany (oompah!)
Viking hats from Norway
And my favorite - sombreros from Mexico (although these are probably the most cumbersome and $$$)

I don't think China, Italy, or Japan had any.

There's a great thread about the monorail drink-a-thon. Maybe we can start a WS drinks and hats thread!

DH and I are taking an adult beverage tour when DS is at the neverland club .... who needs a fancy restaurant??!!

save cash on the hats...take photos wearing hats of each country. Hey, the drinks ain't cheap and you can only wear one hat at a time.

Is that for real??? They really have a passport type thing that they stamp? Where do you get that? That's hilarious! I'm going to be there in January, and if they still do that, I'd love to find out more about it.

Last time I went, Germany's beer was Lowenbrau. erm. Not a favorite. That was in September.

Confirmed on the no Ringnes at Norway, either, although the very nice CM confirmed that they do in fact drink Carlsburg at home. I think Italy's beer is Peroni, though I may be wrong on that, but I'd be surprised if it weren't since they seem to go for the most "commonly" known import beer for each country- Sapporo in Japan, LaBatts in Canada, etc.

Italy and France have very nice wine samplers. I suggest picking up a couple of chocolates and the wine tasters there.

Morocco has a very good tangerine drink that's kind of like a slurpee. :) Warning: it turns your mouth *very* orange...

I skip the American Pavillion- I can drink that stuff any time I want.

Do they have plum wine in Japan, or just sake and beer? I love sake but I would so *not* mix it with everything else I end up drinking at WS. I know they sell sake and plum wine, but I can't remember if they serve them...

Mexico, go with the Margarita, although I find the lime a bit tart. The Fiesta is good, though.
