Entrance Time for MHT?

In WDW for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, you are allowed to enter the park a little ahead if you have a ticket for the event. If you are already in the park, you can get a wrist band and continue what you are doing.
Does anyone know if you can do this at MHT? If you are at the park (DCA), do you need to exit for closing and reenter with your ticket for the party?
If so, at what time will they start allowing you in?
Also, I know this has been asked before, but would you suggest eating dinner before you go into the party, or is there something available other than snacks?

We have been to this the last 2 years at DL. Unfortunatly they made everyone exit the park and re-enter for the event.

We did the Princess and Pirate Party at WDW in Feb and were SOOOOO impressed with the wristband system. I wish DL would do it for this.

By the time the MHT is about to start the lines (every station) is backed up to DL. It is crazy. We ALWAYS get there early.

They have each year opened the gates before the scheduled opening time however. Not but much but by about 15-20 minutes.

I am keeping my fingers crossed however that DL will get their act together and do it like WDW.

There is food to eat there. We have never taken the time to eat though. We always eat before and then just enjoy the candy as our dessert. We ALWAYS run out of time. We do not want to waste it eating. We go to DL atleast once a month but there is so much extra at the MHT that we never get to do it all bc of time. My advise, eat b4 you come.

you covered pretty much all my questions and I really liked your advice about eating before going into the park to save time. We did MNSSHP last year and I couldn't believe how fast the time went by!

One other tip, when they let you in, by pass the first few candy stations and go further into the park, everyone seems to stop at the first few they see and the lines get long, can can go back later and go to those...

What else do us novices need to know about MHT?

to ask another question, we have a 4 pm PS at HOB in DTD. Will that give us enough time to eat before the party?

DH has to have a sit down meal every day.... I could just do a grab and go burger. LOL
