Pros and cons, please-- and, GO!

Two adults, three nights at Waikiki and five nights at Aulani. Pearl Harbor for sure, still on the fence for Poly Cultural Center.

It really depends on how you'd use it. The Go card might give you a bigger value but for a larger investment. They cover a lot of the same attractions. One thing to check on if you decide to do the PCC is whether they'll refund the admission amount for a package with the GO card, they will with the Ent discount. It just depends on what and how you'll use it.

Thanks, Dean.
Another thing I'm puzzling through is advanced tickets for Pearl Harbor. If I do advanced purchase, I don't think I can use either discount; I tried going all the way to checkout with a dummy date to see if there were a place to put in a code. I suppose I could just reserve the Arizona tickets in advance and buy the other tour parts onsite with a discount.

Thanks, Dean.

You might email the GO card people and ask how that works. They might refund it or there might be a code, I'm not sure. I've used the GO card in other places like SFX and Boston and what I did was essentially go through the costs and how I'd likely use it. There are other options as well see http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopi...oks_and_discount_cards_for_Hawaii-Hawaii.html . Also, Tickets at Work has discounts of $25-40 per card per adult and $10-25 per child and has all length of tickets if you happen to have access.

Thanks, Dean.

The Arizona tickets are just for the memorial and that is the only thing you need to reserve in advance. The GO card is for the audio tour, Submarine, battleship, and aviation museum. They are included in the Go card, no additional charge and do not need to be reserved in advance. Hope this helps.

If bought separately tickets for the submarine are $12, audio tour $7.50, battleship $25, aviation museum $25. Those are all included with the GO card. No need to buy advance tickets/ passes. The Arizona memorial tickets are free, but there is a $1.50 convenience fee when reserved in advance. I will reserve the Arizona in advance, I think it is 2 months out.

We plan to do all but the aviation museum this year unless we have time. Last time we spent the entire day at Pearl and ended up rushing through the battleship to make it to the aviation museum before closing. I did buy the GO Card this year.

I purchased the 4 day Go card through Costco $168 per adult. We plan to do a lot of activities so we will definitely have savings. As my bonus attraction, I chose the PCC wih Alii luau and the evening Ha show included with the go card, a $99 value per person. I was able to call the PCC To make reservations and even pick my seats. They took my four go card numbers and we just pick up the tickets when we arrive.

If you buy the Go card you need to plan in advance based on the attraction hours of operation. Some things need to be reserved and Kualoa ranch is only one tour per day. I sat down and figured the different things we plan to do and grouped them by location to plan our days. We have a car and are staying on the north shore so won't be using the options that include transportation.

Two years ago I bought the entertainment book at $6 on an end of season sale. We really only used it at Pearl and not everything was BOGO on it. I am not buying it this year. We did not stay in Waikiki last time or this time, so there may be more value if staying there.

I'm trying to decide if the Go Oahu card is worth the initial cost. What type of seats were you able to select for the "Ha" show at the PCC? I'm thinking if I do the PCC show, the Bowfin, Pearl Harbor, the Missouri and the Oahu tour, it might be worth the investment. I noticed the Go Oahu site says you can pick the extra bonus attraction on the 3, 5 and 7 day cards - how do you pick one with the 4 day card through Costco?

The bonus is included with the 4 day Costco card also. I believe that the go card website does not list the 4 day card for sale on their website, so they don't mention it for the bonus attraction. All the Costco reviews mention the bonus attractions and when I was emailed the package it says that my card includes the bonus.

it is the Alili Luau and Ha evening show package. The seats are Luau Level, you can go on the PCC website and start a dummy reservation and see the seat availability for your dates. Luau level seating is the center 3 sections row O and above and the two sections near the stage on either end. I chose row O, the first row in the second level, center section

We decided to go with the go card as many of the activities we want to do are on it. In addition to the Pearl Harbor attractions and the PCC dinner/show, we plan to do 2 tours at Kualoa Ranch (have to be done on different days but we are not staying far from there), Iolani Palace, SUP, Kayak, and probably hit the Dole Plantation as we will be driving right by.

We've decided that will go to the Polynesian Culture Center, so the Go card looks like it will be worth the cost. It sounds like next I should investigate a Costco membership. We don't have one in my part of fabulous Central Illinois, but I could drive to East Peoria. If their deals are close, I could justify a few trips a year.

This is all getting very real! I'm so, so excited!

Costco is usually great for car rentals too and have been the best price I can find for Hawaii

Wow! You weren't kidding about car rates! Their price is $100 cheaper than my member rate for Alamo for an eight day rental. Between that savings, the Go card price and access to the gas station, deli, and wine department, we're in.

And they go up and down. Keep checking, you might get a new option even cheaper along the way.
