It seems that in past years, one of the best hotel discounts for the Universal hotels was with the Entertainment Book rate.

Is there a coupon in the current book that offers a substantial discount for any of the 3 on-site hotels? Or even a discount of room/tickets?

We are planning on going to Universal July 9 & 10 (Saturday/Sunday) - we would love to be on-site, but need a discount (cheapest rate I can find is $244 for Royal Pacific). Is there a chance of getting an Entertainment Book discount at this time???

Thanks!

It seems that the chances are slim to none. I haven't heard of anyone getting an ENT rate. I have heard talk that Loews and ENT are still trying to negotiate something. Time will tell...

The only discount out there right now are: Fan club, AP, and AAA. I was really surprised to see that the AAA rates are the same as the AP rates on out May trip. You might want to check ou the other rates & see if it is cost effective to get an AP or AAA memebership. Just be wary of getting an AP, you may save $$$ on 1 trip but spend it all comeing back again and again and again.

To answer the first question, Yes, there is a coupon in the current entertainment book, and I think that's how they are doing it this year. This would explain why there are no entertainment rates by calling. It reads...

EXTRAORDINARY Vacation Offer!
Save $50 on your next Universal Orlando Resort Vacation!
Save $50 on any vacation of 4 nights or more. Choose hotel accommodations at one of our 3 magnificently themed on-site resorts or one of the many Orlando area hotels. Your vacation also includes admission to both Universal Orlando theme parks and a CityWalk Party Pass.
Use promotion code UNENTBOOK to receive $50 savings.

There is also a coupon for $7 in Universal Scrip with each 2-Day/2-Park Admission.

Many are finding that code AAA works the best, but you'll need your card when you check in.

Thanks for all the good info - I have a feeling we will end up off-site for those days, unless we win the lottery in the next few months!

I know it is difficult coming up with the extra money. I know that going in July can be very busy and there is nothing like staying on site and having a short walk to the parks and continuous express on rides. You can't beat it.

I just called 1-800-LOEWS-11 to inquire about reservations for October 05 and he asked me if I was a FL or GA resident (which I am).

I told him to check the rates for:

Fan Club
Entertainment
Loews Membership rate
(didn't ask about AAA rate)

It turns out that the FL or GA Resident rate was approx. $100 cheaper than ALL options above.

So if you live in FL OR GA ask about those rates as well.

When you called, did they give you a rate for Entertainment? I am starting to get aggrivated at the ridiculous price of these hotels. At $234 p/night , I can only afford about 2 nights. (and that's stretching it)

What were the rates they quoted you as a resident?????

But, if you to manage to get a discounted rate through AAA or somewhere else, do you still qualify for the free park passes. I know that $234 can seem expensive, but if you include passes for two at about $100 a day, then let's say you book 4 nights. That's five days of park admission, therefore that's $500 off the $936 for the hotel rate.
