Enterprise vs. Hertz

Is there any major difference between these two that I should be aware of?

We will be renting from one of them in late Sept. Right now, there are major price differences for a van rental. Enterprise is $240 more for a van!!!
Unfortunately, we live in a rural area, and these two are our only options ;-(

I would pick Hertz over Enterprise from past personal experience both at home and in Florida with Enterprise. In both locations I was given vehicles that had mechanical problems and when I returned before ever leaving the lot I got a hassle and had to wait for a manager before they would switch vehicles. In Florida they also took a cedit card number for a $100 hold and I was told at both locations the charge would not be sent through unless there was a problem. Both the MCO location and the Cape Canaveral location sent through the charges and it took weeks to have them reversed.

We will never rent from Enterprise again if we have a choice. Others may have positive experiences, but we are not one of them.

In the past I have ever rented from either. This go-round I rented from Enterprise. Driving from Nashville (farther from FL than you) I got a minivan for $283 for a week on CarRentals.com

I have posted this info on several threads, but it seems Im the only one to get that rate so far. Must be an inventory thing. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try though.

IMO Hertz is a far superior company in every way. I'm shocked they are actually cheaper. Book with Hertz without any hesitation!
