Entering the Park during EMH

I'm not exactly sure how access to a park DURING EMH works - can you get the armband (or whatever) earlier in the day and then RETURN to the EMH park during the extra magic hours? Or, do you have to be in the park when it "closes" in order to remain?

Asking because I have a chance to get good reservations for activities early in th evening, but would like to go to Epcot for example around 10:00 PM for the remaining 2 hours of extra magic!

I did see people coming into MK about 2 hrs into the EMH night when we were there in August. They got their wristbands at the turnstyles. Others already had them. Usually they give the wristbands out about 2 hrs. before the park closes to the general public. So, if the park closes at 8, you got your bands at 6ish...no earlier. But, you can get into the park after EMH starts.

this is my first time at disney with EMH hours too.
I would like to know how they extend the hours at parks for resort members only.....how can they get the others to leave? I am sure this is a simple answer but logically I can't figure this one out.

Just got back on Sunday and here's how it worked. No wristbands given earlier in the day but yes you can enter later in the evening as long as you are a resort guest.

During the extra hours they will check wristbands. I did see people walking around the park without the wristbands on, however, every ride asked to see your wristband and I did see them turn people away if they didn't have one on.
