Will be arriving in WDW on 04/26 (myself, DH, DS14, DD12, and DS4). Will be on the silver plan for 10 days. Wishes will pay for all sit-down meals, parasailing, Cirque De Soli and spa treatments.

We'll be paying for one food court meal everyday, all of DS4's meals, tips, souveniors, and the occasional taxi.

DS14 and DD12 will have spending money of $200 each for the ten-days. Would a $100-a-day be sufficient or do you think thats cutting it close? Or am I way over budget because most everything is paid for so I'm being paranoid by taking to much money (if that's possible). DH has been layed off for the last 4-weeks without much changing soon and it's really messed with our budget for the trip.

Thanks!!

I think that $100/day would be plenty.

If you allocate $40 for counter service, $10 DS4 dinner, $15 DS souvies, $15 taxi and $20 for snacks, you would be at your $100. I'm sure you won't need a taxi everyday and may not spend $20 each day for snacks, so there would be some extra that you could spend on the counter service.

Be sure to check out www.allearsnet.com and look at the menus. That should give you an idea about the counter service restaurants. You can also have your DS4 share with you or one of your older kids depending on how much he eats. You can also order ala carte from the counter service restaurants - for example, my DH and I will order one meal (burger and fries) and an extra burger since the one order of fries is plenty for us. You can also order a double burger and an extra bun (less than $1) and share that way.

I was laid off last year (downsized 3 days before our last Disney vacation) so I understand being paranoid. Hopefully this will ease your mind! Have a magical trip. :wave2:

I'd say you will probably be fine too. If you are concerned, check out getting some Q&C vouchers. We found that we ALWAYS at least broke even and most of the time saved some when using them. For me the biggest draw is prepaying so I can monitor the budget a little closer. My husband and I pretty much always shared a meal with them too since the portions are so big (and he's 6'4", 235 so he can eat!).

I hope your DH is able to find something even better very soon!
