Enough to do at Universal for a week?

I think my kids rode The Mummy ten times in a row one morning). ... There were 9 of us (me -46, dd-16, ds-13, my mom-71, my sister-42, BIL-50, DN-12, DN-9, and dn - 3.5).

OK, I have to ask, who rode The Mummy ten times in a row? I have a 7 yo and a 9yo. I don't think the 7 yo is tall enough for The Mummy and I'm not sure the 9 yo is brave enough. Which kids loved The Mummy so much that they rode it over and over again?

The four oldest kids (16, 13, 12, & 9). I'm a real ride chicken and rode it twice. BIL rode it twice too. My mother and sister only rode it once. I was very surprised about the 9 y.o. as she tends to be a bit on the timid side but she loved it! (and I think it had something to do with wanting to keep up with the older kids). The three oldest are fearless when it comes to rides. They'll get on anything. I swear my two have cast iron stomaches. They ate a big meal at Busch Gardens (ribs, fries, coleslaw, drink & dessert) and then went on Sheikra!

FYI: The 9 y.o. is very tiny. She was wearing a size 6 last summer when we were there. She was tall enough to ride everything except Hulk, Dr. Doom's Fearfall and Dueling Dragons.

I think the Mummy is 44" and my 6 yo is 48" and my 7 yo is 49". We are doing US/IoA many times in the coming year and are going to buy the premier pass for FOTL after 4 pm as we will be staying offsite too.

We took our kids to IoA/US when they were 3 and 4 and we spent several days -- they loved SpiderMan, Suess Landing, and the play area where Barney is. For kids that young an entire week may be too long -- consider spending a day at Seaworld and/or Aquatica to break things up.

I always felt whether at Disney or Universal there is always so much to offer at resorts on "off days" that you can't enjoy while your power parking.

I had fun at US/IOA but after 3 days I had seen it all and was bored. :confused3 Sorry to all of you big US/IOA fans but I just didn't get the full magic of it like I do at WDW. I had fun and I enjoyed the rides but there wasn't anywhere near enough to keep me busy for 7 days. So on my trip earlier this month where I planned for no WDW at all, 4 US/IOA days and 2 SW days I only ended up doing 3 US/IOA days and 1 SW day and I snuck off to WDW for the last 2 days. :lmao:

I have to agree with Bill. I've done US/IOA twice, staying onsite both times, once for 3 nights and just got back from 2 nights. Two full days at the parks were enough for us, we had FOTL so we didn't have to waste time standing in line. We rode everything we wanted to many times over. The only thing I wanted to see that I didn't get to see was the Beetlejuice show.

I enjoyed my time at US, but I think seven days at just the two parks will be a little much.

The mummy req is 48".

There's really only 3 major coasters...plus a few kiddie ones, I really don't see why this is considered a major part of the parks.
I was just thinking that.

Personally I would get bored at Disney if I was there for 7 days. The perfect trip for us would be four days at Universal, about the same at Disney and a few off days to do other things. I think that four days would be about right with little ones. The pool will be a big part of each day and a half day each day at Universal will likely be about right.

The seven day deal will still save you money either way. :thumbsup2

I think everyone is just different. :thumbsup2

We could (& have) spend 16 days at WDW with or without kids and find plenty to do and enjoy ourselves.

We could (& have) spend 9 days at DL with or without kids and also enjoy ourselves.

We think Sea World takes 2 solid days to experience everything (in TX or FL).

So, I'd say we're used to doing things at a fairly leisurely pace and spend more time at these places than many people.

We have spent 4 days at Universal with our older kids who are old enough to do all attractions/rides and plan to return for a week long trip in the future, so I do think that certain groups could enjoy a week at Universal. I don't feel that Universal would be the best place to spend a week with children younger than about 8 though. 2-3 days I think "yes", but not an entire week. JMO. :thumbsup2
