Enough Time to Make it to FoF

My FP+ window will open up in a couple of weeks and I am trying to figure out how I want to use them. The FoF parade is a priority for my group. We have an ADR for lunch at CRT at 1:20 and will definitely be staying for dessert (we've ordered a birthday cake). Will we have enough time to get to the parade if we have a FP+ for it? I'm not looking for the best viewing spot, but would like to be able to see something. If this isn't realistic, we'll come up with a plan B. I just wanted to know before wasting a FP+ on it if it won't work. Thanks!

You can typically find a great spot in Frontierland/Liberty Square right up until the parade starts. I would focus on heading right there after your lunch rather than using a FP+ on it. Hope this helps!

Just to share some logistics of the FP+ with you, if it helps you decide what time you'd need to finish at CRT.

The current FoF FP+ viewing area is in Town Square. The return window is 2:40pm to 3:05pm, but you will be allowed to enter the area earlier than 2:40 if you want. The actual parade can be seen coming down Main Street at around 3:10 to 3:15 and reaches the viewing area at around 3:20pm.

If you can time it right, there's a crossover from the Tiki Bird/Magic Carpet area to Country Bear Hall. Last summer, we were able to slip through the crossover and into the Country Bear stroller parking area just as the 3 pm parade was approaching. The kids got front row with a less than 30 second wait. Not too bad.

Thanks everyone. Maybe due to the uncertainties, I won't use an FP+, but instead try to book it over to Frontierland once we get done with lunch. How long does lunch at CRT generally take? I just wish I knew where all of these places are in relation to the Castle. It's sad, we used to go almost every other year when I was a kid, but I haven't been back to WDW in about 20 years now. I thought I remembered where everything is, but now that I try to recall, they're escaping me. It's clear that I am going to have to spend a little time perusing some maps.

I think you'll be able to find a spot without having to use one of your FP+ on FoF. I think your revised plan on booking it to Frontierland is a good one. Character dining is typically 60-90 minutes. Since you're doing a cake dessert, I'd plan on an hour and 1/2. Just let your server know at the beginning that you want to try to make it to FoF in Frontierland and that you have a cake. I think you'll be ok. When in doubt, can you send one member of your group out ahead of time to check for spots?

That's not a bad idea. We were actually only able to get a table for 4 at CRT even though there are six of us. My DH and DF were going to try to do a couple of rides while the rest of us have a ladies' lunch with the princesses. Perhaps they could make it a mission to scope out a good spot and we could just meet them there.
