I'm trying to work out a trip in Feb. to both WDW and Universal. On our other trips, we've spent a total of 8 to 11 nights at WDW. 11 nights was a long trip...8 was probably better. Anyway...I'm thinking about 6 nights at WDW, then heading to Universal for 3 days/2 nights. We've never been to Universal before-will this give us enough time to get a decent feel for the resort and parks? The plan is to then go again for a full Universal trip in another 2 years when the girls are a little older (they'll be 8 & 11 for this trip).

Thanks!

I'd suggest moving to U 1st thing in the morning after your disney stay.

Our 1st trip to U was for 3 nights/4 days beginning two Sundays before President's Day weekend. We were bitten by the bug, enough time to see everything several times with FOTL:thumbsup2 Would've been nice to have just 1 more night.

Then we moved to WDW for 6 nights, even took a day off to go to KSC.

Presidents Day weekend, combined w/Daytona 500 crowd was a nightmare.:sad2:

Learned the hard way, it's mighty hard to enjoy the magic @ WDW after being spoiled w/FOTL 1st in a trip...save it for last.;)

If you're staying onsite 3d/2n should be fine for your first trip. Parks will likely close around 5 or 6, so you can check out the resorts & CityWalk in the evening. I agree with getting there early on your first day...that way you can make a full day of it and leverage your express pass access.

Since you have been to WDW several times, I think you should add at least one more night at universal (2 more nights if you can). Universal is so much more relaxing than Disney. You will go home feeling like you were on vacation (relaxed), and not like you ran the whole time. I know you feel like 11 nights was too long, but I think that was because you were in one place for too long.
