1 carat, wanted more, but chose pear, and well, we could not afford it. I love my ring, and have worn it for 12 married years, and 2 engaged ones prior..I love it.:)

OOps a real one, of fantastic clarity.

Mine is a .75 princess cut diamond in a plain platinum Tiffany setting... I love it :)

I received my diamond when I was 18 years old and DH was newly in the Navy. It is between a quarter and a half carat. For our 5th anniversary DH bought me a diamond saddle, which I love. Then DH offered to replace the ring for our 20th anniversary with a bigger one, but I am perfectly happy with my original ring because it is the one DH picked out on his on and proposed with. :)

I don't like diamonds, I want a different gemstone. I also want something either unusal or antique for the setting. Nor do I want a large stone, but I don't want clusters either.

My engagement ring center diamond is about .75, and with all the little baguettes around it (and on my wedding band) makes it just under 1 carat total. I've seen some of those huge rocks lately, too. I always wonder if they're real. How can people afford them???

OOH Dh just bought me a blue topaz last year for our anniversary, and it is 11 carats with 2 diamonds on the sides..>I LOVE IT:thumbsup2

1/2 carat pear, I picked it out because I wanted something small. I just like small jewelry, anything bigger would have felt like it was in my way.

Mine is a little over a carat and was a family heirloom (of DH's family).

Dang, I accidentally clicked the wrong one. My engagement ring is not a diamond.

Origional ring was about 1/3 ct total weight- center stone 1/4 ct, 4 very small brilliants surrounding.

Got "upgraded" center stone on our 5th anniversary- it is 1/2 ct, and the perfect size for me. Wouldn't want anything larger- it would ruin the look of the rest of the ring.

Mine is a little over .75 carats, the diamond is from the late 1800's and the setting is from the early 1900's. That's the main diamond, it has two smaller .25 carat diamonds on the sides and then I have a carat total weight wedding band.

It was given to DH by my grandmother, I also have my great-grandmothers wedding set.

Sounds like a very interesting design. Any pictures?

Well, so far only 2 diamond simulants (1 cz, 1 moissanite) and 3 non-diamond gemstones. Very interesting.

I like the look of other gemstones, but wonder if people question if it's an e-ring or not. Hmm.

No engagement ring here. When I was engaged prior to my marriage, it was less than .75 (by alot!!). I have no idea where that ring even is. Once I left the husband, it lost all significance.

My ring is a 1.09 carat round solitaire (F color, VS2) set in white gold. My wedding band is just a simple white gold thin band.

For our third anniversary, DH got me an eternity ring with small diamonds all the way around.

If I were doing it over again I'd want an antique - and not a diamond - a ruby or something.

Unfortunately, I don't have any good pics- and I still haven't figured out how to post pics to the DIS.

To describe it, it looks like the center stone is the bloom of a flower, and the small brilliants are set two on each side, set on the diagonal, on gold marquise shaped settings- they look like the leaves of the flower. It is a really pretty and delicate ring, although the band isn't really thin. It is about 3mm at the widest part- the same thickness as my wedding band.

My ring is .75 carats, but I don't think it's small at all, so I didn't answer the poll. It's heart-shaped and I get a lot of compliments on the e-ring and wedding band (which, of course, has more bling).

:)

Gosh, mine's I think .33 and I don't think of it as small at all. It's a round center stone with sidestones and a band with matching diamonds...but it definitely doesn't look small. It looks vaguely like this one, only the sidestones are more round I guess.
