Engagement at Disney?

Hi all!! We are about two months out for our Disney adventure and we are so excited!!! I have a really big question. My cousin wants to propose to his girlfriend in May. We(myself and husband) would like to try and convince him to wait until the trip to do it. Does anybody know anything about proposing or getting engaged at Disney?

I proposed to my wife at Disney World. What I did was rent one of those boats that takes you out in front of the Magic Kingdom during the Wishes fireworks show. When the fireworks started I got on my knees and popped the question. I don't think my wife ever saw the fireworks because she kept looking at the ring, but it was very romantic.

I've never used them, but I found the site while looking for something special to do for my parents for their 40th anniversary. Its kind of pricey, but maybe it will help.

Also, have you tried contacting Disney to ask for some suggestions? Maybe someone out there knows who to contact.

I would have loved to have been proposed to at Disney (if my opinion counts)! It depends on how long the proposal would be delayed - I felt like I was waiting FOREVER for the big question.

Thanks ya'll!! The delay would only be maybe two weeks. I will check out the site. I am also going to call Disney and see if they have some tips.

Tell him to definately wait. I proposed to DF in front of the Castle. There are many different ideas. The gifts of a lifetime company offer some good options, but i found them to be a little pricey, plus they told me I was too close to the date for them to be able to service me ( i called mid-april for a may trip as soon as I heard of them). Besides that I have read and heard many great things. My fiance was thrilled and told me I could not have picked a more magical spot to show my ultimate display of affection!

I think with a little creativity on his part he could find the perfect place. time and way on his own to create a little pixie dust of his own

My fiance proposed to me while at DisneyWorld in 2003 - I couldn't have been happier. Disney World is such a truly magical place - He proposed the night we arrived......the whole day it rained and well into the evening - we had a horse drawn carriage ride scheduled at the Fort Wilderness Resort, would you believe while we went on the carriage ride it stopped raining? He proposed to me while on the carriage ride. Or course, once we got off the carriage ride it started up again but it didn't really matter.

In my opinion - he should wait to get to Disney to propose....there are so many ways to propose. You will have to keep us updated....I love to hear proposal stories.

My husband proposed to me in Disney.

He had looked into the companies that coordinate everything and he found that not only were they expensive, but then you are on a schedule. You have a certain time you have to be a certain place, etc. He knew I would know SOMETHING was up if he said "We have to be at the castle at 11:15, etc." So he did it on his own. One of the Disney Cast Members happened to be right nearby so he told her (unknown to me of course) what he was doing and asked that she keep taking pictures. So there I am thinking we were posing for a picture when he turns to me, gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him right in front of the "Partners" statue in front of the castle! There was no better way to get engaged, and we have pictures of the event!

He should definately wait until the trip to do it.. she will be on !
