Hello everyone! I'm finally going to get this highlights TR started. Thanks for joining along. I really love sharing our pictures and stories as well as making new DIS friends and "spending time" with old ones. If you didn't read our PTR (link in my sig) feel free to head over. Otherwise, I'll give you a brief summary.
I'm Kristen, a 23 year old graduate student and part time bank teller. My fiance Chris is a 26 year old cable technician, wishing to have a job that has something to do with cars. We have been together for over 4 years and got engaged on April 2nd when we were in Philadelphia celebrating our 4 year anniversary. Hence the TR title! Our wedding is October 28, 2012 and one of my BFFs who I met right here on the DIS, tinkgurl, is one of my bridesmaids.
This trip solidified for us that we will be having a Disneymoon next year!
Then we have Kimmy (Princess_Momma on the DIS), a 21 year old mom and football enthusiast. Her adorable 2 1/2 year old son is Landon. Kimmy just turned 21 in April, so this was her first time in WDW at legal drinking age! This would be our first time meeting Kimmy and Landon.
Last but not least we have Lauren (lauren_elizabeth on the DIS), a 23 year old mom and wife! Her adorable son is 3 1/2 year old Jake and her precious daughter is 3 month old Mallory. Chris and I met up with Lauren and Jake in December 2009 but since then, Lauren has gotten married to her wonderful husband Josh (couldn't join us due to work
) and given birth to a princess!
You'll see lots of pictures of all of these wonderful people throughout the TR!
I say this will be a "highlights" TR because it's not going to be as in depth or thorough as other TRs I have written. This trip was different for Chris and I as it was very laidback and we didn't do various things that we usually do. That's DEFINITELY not to say we didn't have an amazing time, because we did! But, Chris and I were also sick for a lot of the trip. My dad had bronchitis at home which I picked up a touch of the day before we left. Two days into the trip I was coughing like a maniac and my nose was stuffier than I thought humanly possible. Four or five days into the trip, Chris picked up what I had. While we tried to not let being sick bring us down, it did make us TIRED! For that reason we had a lot more resting than I would have liked. Anyway, let me get started. I'm mostly going to use pictures and not a lot of text. In addition, when I uploaded my pictures from my camera to my computer, it jumbled them. Nothing is in order anymore so bear with me!
For trip specifics, Chris and I left the night of June 2 and stayed offsite at a cheap Days Inn. Then we had the hotel shuttle take us back to MCO the next morning where we caught DME to Old Key West! We stayed there until June 11. Kimmy, Lauren and the kids all arrived June 3-11 and stayed at OKW, too. We all had the dining plan as well as park hoppers!
On June 6, Chris and I had engagement pictures taken at the Polynesian Resort. Anyone who has ever considered doing a private photoshoot in WDW, I'd HIGHLY recommend it!! We had an awesome photographer and got 58 shots in 20 minutes with a bunch of different poses and backgrounds. I was so worried about my hair frizzing up in the Florida humidity so I scheduled our shoot for 8:30 am in hopes that it wouldn't be too hot out yet and it was very successful. We got many excellent shots! We already decided which picture we're going to use for our Save the Date cards too
I'm going to start this TR with some of those pictures because they're easy to find and sort through as opposed to the jumbled up trip pictures! I hope you enjoy!
