Yippee we have decided to go the last week of Sept!!!! Coming from Ohio we are not sure what the weather is like in Orlando and what kind of clothes to pack???:confused3

September is still very warm and humid, with afternoon showers. Nights are warm too, so shorts, sleeveless shirts,T-shirts are comfortable.

We went mid-September and it was HOT HOT HOT! My next trip is planned for Sept 30 and I plan on maybe one pair of jeans and a pullover sweatshirt and the rest shorts.

Yep, it HOT! I'd stick with shorts and tees. I did get cool in restuarants, so I didn't wear too many sleeveless things. Also, a must to your wardrobe for that time of year will be a poncho. We used ours several times last Sept. Also, if you want new things to takw with you, wait until school starts to shop. Summer things will be on clearance by then. :thumbsup2

It's surprisingly hot that time of year. I'd stick with mostly shorts and t-shirts (maybe bring one pair of long pants).

Check your weather forecast before you leave, just in case. I went in October 2005 and because of a hurricane, it was much cooler than I had planned upon.

One other tip: I brought a long-sleeve, lightweight denim shirt that I used all of the time. It was nice to have when indoors (because of the air conditioning) and easy to tie around my waist when I didn't need it. A sweatshirt or jacket would have been too much, but the denim shirt worked great!

Hey, from Ohio too! We went in Sept. 05, and it was really hot and humid. DD and I wore many sleeveless tops, sundresses and tanks. However, looking back at the pictures, I should have rethought that tank decision for myself....But it's not a good month to forget the deoderant!:thumbsup2

And, oddly enough, we had no rain in the 8 days we were there (right after Katrina and the other hurricanes had struck).

we were there last year for the last week in September. The first part of the week was a steamy high 90's. The last part was a very comfortable high 80's. But the lovebugs were something this girl from Maryland had never experienced! I hear they were gone within a week or so of our visit.

I am jealous. My very stressed husband just said tonight he needs to go to Disney RIGHT NOW to see the excitement in our kids' eyes!

Expect it to be HOT! We were there in JANUARY. My husband ran in the Marathon, and by the time he finished it was 85 degress where we were. It was miserable. Dont wear black, it soaks up the sun.

We were there this past year the same week. It was high's of 90s everyday. We got lucky. It rained 1 time on our 10 day trip. No nasty ponchos for us :woohoo:

It was a great week to go. Not too busy. The love bugs were really bad. They are worse at the resort than the parks though.

have fun, we might be there at the same time again this year.

Hello~ Another family from Ohio going to WDW the second week of October wondering what the heck is a love bug ?????

We love going in Sept bc of the low crowd levels.
Like everyone said, it's hot and humid- but we're from Jersey and used to that!

Just a tip I always share regarding the heat: I can't say enough good about our Brita sports bottles. http://www.brita.net/fill_and_go.html
It makes the yucky (actually horrible!) WDW water fountain water taste like spring water! It's amazing!
I know a lot of people take packets of Crystal Lite to disguise the fountain water's taste, but we just like WATER. These bottles save us a ton of $$ bc. when it's hot, you drink a lot!
We just get a cup of ice for free from the CS stands and dump it into our Britas and then fill the rest of the way from the water fountain.

It will be very sticky (hot and humid)! Dont forget the love bugs that will be swarming around you (they dont bite, bug spray wont keep them away, and they are everywhere). Afternoon storms are routine, and dont forget, Sept is the peak of hurricane season.

Shorts, tees, comfy shoes that dry out quickly, waterproof bags for your camera/etc, rain ponchos....if you have kids a rain cover for the stroller, towel to wipe it off, and a swimsuit so they can play in the water fountains and Ariels Grotto. You may even want to do that! Drink lots of water and take it easy. A nice long lunch in a cool restaurant works for us!

Love bugs are little black bugs that hook together and stick on everything. We were there last week of September last year and everything was black with love bugs. It was also hot and humid, but we only had rain 1 day. Lines were 10 minutes at the most and that was for Soarin. Everything else was walk on, ride 2, 3 or 4 times and go to the next ride.

We're from Ohio also:cool1:

Mousema--Hello neighbor in Ohio! So these love bugs....they stick to everything? People? My daughter is terrified of bugs. Are they really that noticable?

As little as possible.

Its hot - crazy humid and hot. Sweaty hot.

Our family has been during different times of the year. Late August was hot and humid but we handled it better than June. It seems to cool down more in the evening the later you get into summer/fall. We would spend our mornings and evenings at the parks and the heat of the day at a water park or around the resort swim pool. We are going again the 3rd week in September and know it will be hot but hope the evenings will cool down some. Drink lots and lots of water, don't get dehydrated.

The love bugs have never been an issue for us. They may be on buildings or shrubs but have never gotton on any of us. I don't remember seeing them in the parks though, only at the resorts. I am not fond of bugs but these did not "bug" me at all.

we were there sept 19 to 25 last year and the love bugs were bad we had to wipe them off the door to our room before we went in but we never notice them in the parks and it was very hot we used body glide on our feet every day and good socks and sneakers and never got a blister all week we also had crocs but we never used them when it got to hot in the afternoon we would go back to our rooms and take a break little rest and a shower then go out for dinner then back to the parks remember take your time and you will have a great time.
