Planning a trip to begin the end of May, May 26-June 3, or waiting for later in June to go with other family members. I am afraid that if we don't go right when the girls get out of school, it will be way too crowded and hot in June. I know the crowds are lighter at the beginning of May but what about the end of May over Memorial day? Any information would be great.

I hope it isn't too bad then because we are going May 30-June 4 or so. My thinking is that most schools get out in June sometime and our school is out May 27 so hopefully it won't be too crowded and not too hot yet.

Two years ago we were at WDW (WL) from the Memorial Day Weekend through the first weekend in June. While Memorial Day weekend was busy, the rest of the week was great! Not too crowded, and still not as hot as July or August! Have a great time!

Memorial Day Weekend is busy. We were there this year. Magic Kingdom was a nightmare on that Tuesday. I think everyone had the same idea we did. Stay at the resort pool on Memorial Day and go to MK the next day. As this is the only time of year we can go, the next time we go it will be the week after Memorial Day. Of course, the crowds are already starting to build but I hear it's mid-June when it really starts to get big crowds.

We usually go the Saturday before Memorial Day and stay through the next Saturday. Honestly, it's not that crowded. Maybe at MK on Memorial Day and the weekend prior. Many schools throughout the country are still in session. I think it's a perfect time to go, the Flower & Garden Festival is still going on, although it's the last week. What a way to kick off your summer. Don't worry about the crowds, we've never had a bad time due to crowds.
This year we couldn't go during this time, and I missed it.

We have gone to WDW for Memorial Day weekend (for 8-10 days) in May 2003 and May 2004. I don't think it's "too" busy. We used to go early Sept or early Dec and were used to much smaller crowds (but shorter hours) and were quite concerned that we would not cope well with May crowds. Found out right away that our worries were unfounded. Its a beautiful time to go. I would not, however, go later in June. The crowds start picking way up as you get into June, and the heat, and the humidity, and the rain...........

Our dates are the same as the OP's. Any advise on which days to avoid which parks? Is it so crowded it's hard to push a stroller around?

Thanks

Michele

As I posted earlier, we were there this year at this time. The only problem we had with crowds was at MK. The other 3 parks were fine. We only had rain on 1 day and it didn't last long.

I had told someone else this in a previous post............I thought Mem. Day was pretty tame compared with the crowd levels during Gay Day (MK). Lots of folks choose to avoid MK on that day...........as we did..........but we found it to be VERY, very crowded at Epcot.

My school got out June 4 this past year and we went to Disney that day. I found it to be very hot and crowded. However, the only other times I've been to Disney was Oct. and Dec. so maybe it just seemed extra hot and crowded because of my frame of reference. I would suggest the earlier the better though. It will get more and more crowded. I think the majority of schools get out the very beginning of June like we do.

we went around may 27-june 10 last few years and during the july 4 weekend the few years before that pros and cons:

may 27-june 10-
pros-less crowds except memorial day, great weather even though it rained everyday at around 4, easy to get ps at restaurants. Did I mention less crowds, also STAR Wars weekend is during this time at MGM which is really fun.
cons-hours are quite short during this time, I cannot remember but there were times MK closed at 7-8pm and AK at 5pm,etc. Thats about it.

July 4-14
pros-everything is open late, great fireworks celebration at MK
cons-crowded oh boy, real crowded!!, hot and HUMID, oh my gosh, I cannot believe how humid especially at Animal Kingdom, hard to get ps at restaurants unless you do it in advance(forget last minute at popular places).

Dont get me wrong, it is real fun to be there during July 4 weekend but I much prefer late May early June.

Have fun :cheer2:

We usually go that week. You definitely see heavier crowds the Thursday-Tuesday. We avoid MK on the Saturday. We went to MK on Monday and a waterpark on Saturday this last time and it did not feel that crowded.
