OK - this is proably a dumb question, but how do they get the park emptied out and only let on-site people remain for the late EMH? Is it just a matter of on-site know when the open late EMH are so they don't leave after the fireworks (or whatever closing the park has)?

If you are a resort guest you have to go get a wrist band, showing your room key. Without the wrist band you can't go on anything and I've read that you can't even buy anything. They do check wristbands at the entrance to rides/attractions.

Not quite....you must get a bracelet in the EMH park to be able to go on the attractions during EMH.

it's kind of hard to miss - you will see.

At all of the entrances, and key locations, you will see CM's putting wrist bands on people (kids inlcuded). If you didn't know what was going on, most people stop and ask.

When we were there last February (will see what's changed in 3 weeks), they allowed everyone to stay in the park, and eat, and shop. The only thing that non-site staying guests couldn't do was ride the attractions.

So, to answer, there's nobody "forcing out" non-site guests, most people just leave.

I'm curious if other have found evening EMH times to be too crowded? I'm under the impression that when MK is open late (11pm or later) that the EMH crowds thin out quite a bit after midnight. Is that true?

I will find out in 3 weeks, as the park will be open until 1am (10pm close, but EMH) on Sunday Feb 26.

I hope so, especially since it will be the end of President's week - I am hoping that most people have gone home!

They do not force non-Disney resort guests to leave any of the evening EMH parks. Without the wristbands they cannot do any of the rides/attractions. I also read recently where someone said people without wristbands could not purchase anything. I find this really impossible to believe. I can't see Disney, or any other corporation, saying no to someone's money. I'm like 99.999999999% certain that you can buy food or souvenirs during the evening EMH without wristbands.

Wednesday May 11, 2005, about 8:50 p.m. MK closed at 9:00 p.m. that night. I was shopping with my son at the gift shop outside Pirates of the Caribbean. He picked out a rather large package. I went to the CM at the cash register, a manager, and asked if the shop would be open during EMH so I could come back later, after we were done in MK, to buy the item. He must not have seen my wristband, because he told me since I didn't have a wristband I would not be permitted to make purchases after the normal park closing time. I flashed my 'band, and he smiled and said it wouldn't be a problem for me to come back and make the purchase any time before midnight.

Maybe that CM manager was wrong, but that was my exact experience.
