End of august question

Hi,
Our family is going the 20th of august and staying off site. We plan on doing a few days at the parks. With most kids gone back to school, should there be long line ups? Is it necessary to purchase the genie and other fast pass ticket for that time of the year?

We’re going the same time as you. We’re anticipating/hoping for lower crowds and hoping not to need G+ but will be prepared to buy a couple of times if needed.

I don't know if I would say most kids have gone back to school by then. Most, if not all, of the Northeast schools don't start back until after labor day. Not sure if that will make a difference but just wanted to put it out there.

We were there last year at that time and the crowds were noticeably smaller than what we’ve seen in October and May.

We go every year around that time and the crowds are smaller than Spring Break, for example, but the parks aren't empty either.
