Who has been in the World these times? Liiiiike 9.23 ---> 10.2

Am I looking at a nightmare of crowds :crowded: :crowded: ???

Or a flutter of people? :flower1:

OR the whole darn place to myself??? :woohoo:

I'll reschedule. I dont play! :teeth:

From what I've heard, it's a pretty quiet time of year.

However, this is the PEAK of hurricane season. Be prepared to change your plans if necessary.

I've been at teh end of september, but that was right after 9.11 so there were NO crowds. ( like 11 or 12 days after. we'd been planning the trip of two years)

Okay, DH and I just got back from the World Sept 29-Oct 9 last year and it was PACKED PACKED PACKED.

I didn't know why...was it a freak year? The new dining plan? The beginning of MNSSHP and Food & Wine Festival? To this day I do not know why it was so busy, but I have never seen the parks that bad before.

I have gone mid-Sept and mid-Oct in years past and enjoyed low crowds. So I was un-pleasantly surprised to experience such horrible crowds.

We were there Sept 25-Oct. 2 last year. The crowds were fine until the weekend, but that started the F&W Festival, I think.

We attended the first MNSSHP and had a blast!

It is hurricane season, so keep that in mind.

Don't expect it to be cool by then. It was pretty hot!

I also have done mid - Sept & mid - Oct ..... also, used to nooooo crowds!

OH NO!

I will reschedule!!! I AM NO FOOL! :teeth:

I think it had more to do with the free dining than anything else. If I remember right you had to check in by the end of September to get the deal and I think lots of people changed their October plans to end of September plans. Even on the weekend I didn't think the crowds were that bad. The worst was EPCOT but we hopped to MK and the crowds were fine. That should be the end of value season so the prices might be significantly higher if you book later. I'd hang on a bit before rescheduling.

Yeah, not sure why it was so bloody crowded last year. Like bengalbelle said, the very beginning of our trip wasn't bad. But holy crap, did it get busy.

Was it a freak year? I don't know. But if you can manage to go mid-September, do it girlfriend. Unless you absolutely can't miss MNSSHP, which is a blast! :teeth:

We were there mid September and the crowds weren't bad. I mean, it didn't feel like the park was dead, but the waits were minimal, probably 20 minutes was the longest we had to wait.

Heed the others' warnings about hurricane season... September is our favorite time to go on vacation for lack of crowds, but Hurricane Charley caused us to reschedule our trip for mid-late September rather than early September. It was a headache to get everything rescheduled (priority seatings, several different tours) just the way we had it, but WDW made the process pretty easy.

Then when we were about to leave, the airport closed due to Hurricane Jeanne before our flight left. We had to stay an extra 2 days at the Wilderness Lodge (oh the tragedy! They didn't have to twist my arm to stay there longer, and what a hefty hotel to sit out the hurricane!). I actually really enjoyed those last 2 days roaming around the hotel. And they gave us our same room back at 50% the price (it was an upgrade to begin with!).

I've read in various places that September is one of the slowest times. I can't vouch for October, though.

We went from 9-20 to 10-1 in 2002 and walked onto every ride, never had a wait more than 3 or 4 minutes. It was blazin' hot though! There was also a downpour every afternoon. I would go again at that time... who are we kidding, I would go anytime :thumbsup2

We went Sept 25-Oct 1 2005. It was not busy at all until Friday (Sept 30). We had no waits- the longest was for Soarin'. It was about a 20 minute wait. I think Friday was so busy for 2 reasons- 1) it was the first MNSSHP date, and 2) it was the first day of the Food & Wine festival. I don't know what the crowds were like at the MK, but at Epcot it was very busy. Also, it was very hot during the day- most were 80ish. We had no rain any of the days we were at the parks, but it did rain saturday afternoon.
I don't know how the crowds were compared to average September crowds, but I was overjoyed. My family has always gone the first week of June (EEEK! Talk about bad crowds! :scared1: ), so the crowd levels seemed great to me.

DD & I went last year Sept 27-Oct 4. While it was not a slow period, we din't have that long of waits for any of the rides - maybe 20 minutes except for Soaring which was 45 minutes as it was pouring at that time and it was a Saturday. We went during the free dining and we had all our ADRs made ahead of time. While I enjoy early December the most, I would not hesitate to go during late September.

We also went last year during spring break and I will never do that again, just too many people.

I was there that exact time frame 3 and a half years ago(celebrated my 31st birthday there :thumbsup2 )..and it is QUIET!!!! Go!

This was our experience as well. We hardly needed to use fastpass at all! I think Soarin' was the only attraction we really needed FP for. We were in Epcot the first day of F&W, but we were there early, and left by the time it got too crowded. We were able to enjoy the F&W festival, and our DDs still had plenty of room to explore when needed. We were at MK on Tues, Sep 27, and walked on to everything throughout the whole day. I think our longest wait that day was 5 minutes!
