End date released for friends and family promotion

I spoke with my guide today and the end date for the promotion is January 20th.

nHmmm...based on all of the discussion/speculation about AKV and when points charts and initial sales information will become available...I'm guess it will be shortly after this promo ends. Maybe Feb. 1?

Last year the offer ended Feb 1 and you could buy right til the last day...there is no need to rush your decision there is plenty of time and it is a big decision and a lot of money around the holidays.

My guide told me this last week- and she said sales for AKV are set to begin early spring.
Does anyone know how close Disney is to their goal of selling all of the SSR points? I am wondering how they will handle sales if they have 2 resorts that they are selling.

When I was talking with my guide about VAKL I asked if they would sell them both at the same time. He said that they are close to selling out at SSR.
Hopefully once the SSR promotion is over we'll hear more about VAKL.

you are wondering how they are going to handle selling at 2 resorts?
when i bought in 2000 they were selling 4 resorts bwv,okw,hh,vb
so i think they can handle 2
they had a really good incentive for hh and vb at the time
than for okw they told you about the low maint fees

so this time they might have a really good incentive for ssr and tell people about the low maint fees at ssr.

Yes- Pluto- that is what I meant- when will they push SSR, when will they push AKV- I am thinking they may be at 2 different price points- or have better incentives for SSR- I don't see the big draw for SSR- but I can see how AKV would be desirable with Savannah Views, killer restaraunts, incredible theming (and possibly walking to AK).

I just got off the phone with my guide and YES 1/20 is the end date of the member incentive referral for SSR.

ALSO... I would suggest...should there be anyone on the fence, you still have plenty of time to make a decision concerning SSR or possibly AKV.

Wait till after Jan 1st...buy SSR..by then the supposedly AKV prices and pt. values will be out...and until you close on SSR..you will be able to CHANGE your purchase to the AKV if you find that the AKV $$ is suitable for your family.
This way you will be "IN" the system for the discounted member SSR referral incentive and not loose it if AKV isn't for you.

BTW....MS will close @ noon on 12/6 for a special meeting and CM rumors have it that possibly the AKV info will be announced.
