Re a previous posting, i am trying to help a first timer friend with accomodation. A bit of trouble as they have children and we dont. They would rather have a separate bedroom as when they go the children will be nearly teenagers.

Has anyone any experience of information on the Enclave Suites Hotel on International drive. good or bad? Any other suggestions more than welcome. thanks alison.

:D

Alison, I did a search on the Enclave Suites and there are several threads, this is one of them and it doesn't sound at all good I'm afraid :-

Alison,

We stayed at the Enclave Suites during our first trip back in 1992. It was very nice then, but needless to say, that's pretty meaningless now.

However, I'm sure I've read that they've had a recent refurb and added a food court. If so, it should be a good choice - more space and kitchen facilities, and in a handy location on I-Drive.

Try posting a question on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions forum.

We stayed on our first trip in 96, we thought it was great. We had a 2 bed apartment, maid service every day, even did the dishes! You got a breakfast to take back to the room, muffin, pastry, bagel and cheese or something else, coffee, orange juice and fruit. It was included so we didnt knock it!
Indoor and outdoor pools, gym and shop.
You could walk to Wet & Wild and many restaurants.
The only problem we heard of was being told to stay in the laundry whilst our washing was on as there had been some thefts - my theory was if someone was that desparate they could have my undies!! anyway no one took them.
It was mainly South Americans when we were there (Feb), it may be that it was a Brazilian Holiday or something.
We would go back as we could wander about on I drive in the evenings, which we cant do now.

I hope I'm wrong but I think I saw an article about these on "Holidays from Hell" last summer. The problem seemed to be with suites being let to sinle sex groups who were very rowdy.

we have stayed at the Enclave a few weeks ago, the rooms are now refurbished,we enjoyed our stay there and would go again.
happy to answer any questions:smooth:

We had our second visit to Orlando this year the first being 8 years ago. The first time we stayed in a villa this time as our daughters are now teenagers and wanted to be in the vicinity of other teenagers we stayed at the Enclave. We were there for a fortnight at the end of July.

We had no problems with the accommodation at all - there is a central living area with kitchen and off each side of this is a bedroom with bathroom. This worked well for us. The hotel has 2 outdoor pools that were open in July until 10 in the evening and an indoor pool that is open 24 hours a day. There is also a small gym type area that is for over 18's.

The food court was disappointing and apart from collecting our buffet breakfast (juice muffin and a piece of fruit) we did not use this. There is a small -rather expensive supermarket on site as well. I believe there were also tennis courts but we didn't use these.

My younger daughter stayed at the indoor pool till very late in the evening socialising with other young people. There was not really anywhere else that they could have met to socialise.

We had no problems with the laundry, the room was cleaned every day and towels replaced plentifully.
Lifts were a little erratic but otherwise we had no problems and certainly no problems with noise from other residents.
We would have no problem with returning there to stay another time.

Thank you all for your very helpful replies and information, i will print it all off and forward it on to my friend at work so she can decide if this is suitable for her family. thanks alison:D
