Hey everyone!

I am super excited to being doing the dessert after party for Enchantment very soon. I saw on the reservation that check in is at 8 pm and the show is at 9 pm. Does anyone know why the check in is so early? Anyone with experience checking in after 8 pm?

You check in, so you can get your wristband for the viewing area. That same wristband will then get you into the desserts afterwards.

I've checked in a bit later before, it's a bit of a hassle. One of the CMs will have to find the person responsible for checkins.

Yes I took my family to this back in 2017. And I was late by almost half an hour. The reason they start at eight is so that you can go through all the food stations (all of which are amazing) and finish your food before the fireworks. You can choose to eat later but the food isn’t as plentiful. The idea is to finish eating before 9 o’clock so you can focus on the show. I did arrive late and we a little rushed to finish in time for the show I don’t recommend it just get there early and take your time. We loved the dessert party though and I would definitely do that again.

Sorry if my question was unclear! I am doing the After Party which means I only have access to the food after the fireworks. Might have been different in 2017 potentially, but they have a before party and an after party now (in addition to a party where people have seats). Because we are not eating till after, I was confused why we have to go so early.

Thanks! Are you saying you don't have to sit in the viewing area the whole time before the show? You're just getting a wrist band?

You don't have to check-in precisely at 8 pm and do not have to sit in the area the whole time. You can show up at check-in any time starting at 8 pm to get your wristband and then go to the viewing area whenever you would like. Guests who go to the viewing area earlier will get better spots.

For After Party people, it is to get your wristband so you can go into the viewing area for the fireworks

You get your wristband at the entrance of the restaurant, after that, you can go anytime to the viewing area. The viewing area is open for pre and post party ticket holders so it can get crowded. If you are set to where you want to stand, you should get there early to get your spot. If not, you can go to the viewing area anytime before the fireworks.

This is so hard because to me, I would want to pay for the party so I don't have to stand for an hour for fireworks! But it looks like some people do anyway?
Yes some people do. Many sit on the ground in their spot from as soon as possible but others come in last minute. You have the choice. People who go early get the beat spots that have fewest obstructions but you can see from pretty much anywhere in there pretty well without being as squashed as outside the reserved area

Correct. All you are doing is getting the wristband which will get you into the viewing area, and to the desserts after the show is over. You don't have to go straight to the viewing area after getting the wristband, but, as time goes on, the better spots will be taken by people, and there will be more people in the hub, making navigation just that much more difficult.

Ok makes sense. Sorry for the confusion. That is new to me. And yes that does seems confusing. Maybe they want to get the check in process done ahead of the fireworks so that people can just come back afterwards and enjoy the festivities without having to go through the check in process or they don’t want a long line afterwords. Perhaps you can call maybe it’s a 8 PM starting time for check-in and then that way people can come in throughout the hour?

We do. It's the only way to ensure we get an optimal spot. But we sit in the garden, we aren't standing for an hour.

In 2019 we got to the viewing area when it was pretty crowded, but we still had enough space for a group of 13 to lounge around on the grass until the show started. We didn’t stand until the lights went out.

We checked in 20-30 mins before. Also you don’t have to go to the dessert buffet immediately after fireworks (didn’t know that the first time and regretted it). We rode the people mover and could have gone on buzz as well (it went down) before we entered the dessert buffet area at 9:45 pm (fireworks at 9 pm). I posted pictures of the plaza garden on page 12, few minutes before fireworks (3/31/2022)
