Enchanting Sweet Peas!!

There's a great sweet pea farm about 1 1/2 hours North of me & they had an open house yesterday. DH & I drove up and got tips on growing, pre-ordered seeds for next fall. He helped me till and plant in February only to find out that was probably too late for this area. My sweet peas are growing and some are about 5 inches tall - so with more water I might see some by the end of summer.
Anybody else growing sweet peas?

I have a perrenial sweet pea the Marlasmom gave me before she moved south. In fact I just sent her a PM about it before seeing your post.

It is about 6 inches tall. I'd love some of the info you received.

She has planting & growing tips on her web-site, but hearing a grower in person adds to the info (at least for me). One thing I'll do differently next time is to start the seedlings in a flat - then transplant into the ground. We don't get much of a frost in my neck of the woods, so I need to plant in November. I also need to over-water right now, and when we have our heat-waves, I need to water even more! There is a little discount on her web-site right now to pre-order for next fall. I have never seen so many sweet peas growing at one place! I'll be lucky to get 3 vines growing!

Sweet peas caught my interest when Snowwark posted them as April's flower of the month. And they are pretty too!

That's a great site! But I don't want to grow them from seed. I want a plant to start with. I've been kinda looking with no luck yet.

Awww...I wish I could mail you some Tulirose, they have them at lots of the garden centres here. Unfortunately, I can't send plants cross border, or I certainly would. I've looked at them, but keep buying more Morning Glory vines.
