Haha, I love that everyone guilted those guests into sitting down. I've wanted to do that a time or two. I mean, why not stay comfortable and allow more guests (especially those with younger kids) a better view?

It's probably a good thing my kid can't read or talk or remember events very well, otherwise Landon might be trying to fight you for the rights to Ariel. (I won't tell you that he watched Stacey obsessively while we were in the room in May.).


I'm glad you were able to say hello to Brenda again.


I can understand why you were having all those emotions that particular night. It was a lot to take in. You had the parks themselves, the specialty of the holiday season, and then all that priceless time with friends. You probably knew that was a day you could never replicate ever again, even if you tried, and you most likely wanted to leave on a high note. Not to mention, that's kind of emotionally draining.
However, it sounds like your last full day held some high points, so hopefully having that extra time worked out for the best.

"Goodbye" is the most awful word ever. I hate it and the way it makes me feel. But what wonderful, unexpected memories. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" is something I struggle with. But I love it.

It's horrible. Normally when on a trip with anyone, you're all leaving together. This was rough. That said, I wouldn't change a thing. Ahhh the wisdom of Dr. Seuss. And that is so very true.

It was a wonderful evening and full day really. And in just under 3 weeks, I'll see them again... and then I have to go through the goodbye again.

Ooooh THANK YOU!!! She was so beautiful.

Hmmm, that's a good question. Many are the same but with different outfits, but I find the Halloween one to have more unique and rare choices overall.

What a nice night you had! Your goodbye to Riley and her mom was really sad, though. I'm glad that you were able to have a nice Dismeet with Brenda and Emily to cheer you up a little.

I can't wait to hear how your final day went.

It was a magical party for sure Sue. But oh my, saying goodbye was rough. I was so happy that Brenda and Em were still there. I literally went running to them for comfort, lol. But then I had to say goodbye to them too. A very bitter-sweet night, but one I would never change.

Oooh stay tuned for this. I couldn't have asked for a better final day.

Howdy, so glad I stumbled across your TR. I am subscribing and can't wait to read it. I am taking my first solo trip (short 3 days trip but Disney is Disney! Right) before I head to Miami for a cruise. Also plan to do the Halloween party which. I have waited to do for a long time.

Can't wait to read it. Any tips for a solo travel I'm taking. Lol

Well howdy right back Lynzer!!! I'm so happy you did as well! WELCOME!!!! That's exciting to have your first solo trip (Disney IS Disney, absolutely). I think you'll love it. And MNSSHP? AMAZING!!!! That is so much fun!

Hmmm, tips? Honestly, I could go on and on about it, but in the end I'm going to cheat a little and copy what I wrote at the end of my first solo TR...

"For anyone who’s ever dreamed of taking a solo trip to WDW, I hope this little story in some way convinces you to finally just do it. We have our entire daily lives to be mature and responsible adults. So go and find your inner child and embrace it; Wear your Mickey ears proudly; Eat that Mickey Bar, Dole Whip, or cupcake; Buy that Disney balloon; Get a hug from a character; And always remember, Walt Disney World IS a dream... and you don't have to wake up."

The bottom line is, don't feel self conscious about it at all. Do what you want to do, when you want to do it. You make the schedule. Do things you normally wouldn't do. But most of all... Have Fun!!

It was priceless and something I'd like to see more of as well. Thank goodness they all fell in line or it could have gotten ugly, lol. Your mama wouldn't have had any issues here.

Yeah, I felt the need for some reason. Bahaha, I was actually thinking that too. How could I possible win fighting a child, let alone a child with glasses???? At the end of the day though, it just shows what good taste he has. (But stay away from my Stacey, Landon, lol).

OMG me too!!!! I so needed that at that point and she's just such a wonderful and warm person. The downside was yet another goodbye. I genuinely felt connected to everyone I met, so nearing the end was so very hard.

Emotionally draining is exactly right. Normally, you all arrive, tour, and leave together. You're so right... I will likely never be able to replicate this day. It was truly special. I just wanted to end the trip there and move on and start the inevitable recovery process, lol. I kinda felt like the next day I would be so down and kind of empty that I just wouldn't enjoy it.

Buuuuuuuuut... oh my stay tuned.

Oh me too Tisa. Good luck convincing Keith. Maybe you can get him to dress up!!!! MNSSHP, in my opinion, is even better in many ways. Truthfully, the DISmeets were the difference maker from a great trip to one that was truly my favourite. I will always be so grateful to everyone I met for making the time to see me.

Awww yay!!!! I'm so glad you did and I'm so glad to WELCOME you Cassie!!! As you can see, Brenda played a huge role in my trip. HUGE!!!

It really was off the charts. Best birthday EVER. And I have to admit, a little bit of tears is the goal sometimes.

It's so weird now that at one time it's not something I would have even considered. Having done it now twice, I can honestly say that touring solo is very special. But this trip was really the best of both worlds. I still had my solo time, but the time spent with DISers made all the difference.

I sure will do that! Thank you again for reading.

It really was beautiful Mary Ellen. The castle show was lovely, and most importantly, Riley really enjoyed it. OMG, I just had to say something when I passed by Emily. She was so cute with her "CANADIA!!!" Bless her heart. Yup, the parade strategy worked really well. Except for me anyway, lol.

THAT was so necessary. My only real regret was not getting to spend more time with her and the group. She was so instrumental in my trip. At least I got to see her and Em before we all headed out.

I think that was it. I was genuinely concerned that the next day I would be so down that I just wouldn't enjoy it.

Again, I love so much that you are one of the dis-ers that really embraces the fun, accepting half of the disbaord experience. There are those who just use the boards for advice/tips, or to read, there are those who make half friends, and those who go all in for the meets, the gifts, the awesome and amazing experiences and that is the part that makes me so happy. There is never a doubt in my mind that my internet group of friends is far more amazing and supportive than my real life friends bahaha! And I thank every time I read your stories that you're part of that group!!

Well, there's another chapter that choked me up! And I suspect that I probably shouldn't move the tissues too far away during the updates of your final day.

That is really annoying when people who are in front of the stage or the first row of the parade try to stand. If people would just be considerate, everyone would be able to see without issue.

I don't blame everyone for telling them to sit down. There was no real reason to stand. If everyone stays sitting its more comfortable. Yay you ran into that cast member again I bet it made her night to see someone so friendly again. I hope at least the people on the curb were kind enough to stay seated. That and I would not say all the pictures were horrible I really like the one with the toy soldiers. You and Landon are going to have a fight one day over Ariel . Glad to see you had such a great end to the party.
