"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

So happy you encountered a CM who was as excited as she was that you were celebrating Walt's Birthday!! Disney magic for both of you!!

I know everyone else has already said it, but still- great ToT photo. :thumbsup2

What a great interaction with a CM! Most people give kids cupcakes on their birthdays, and I've always thought to myself, "You know, adults enjoy sugar, too. In fact, they probably appreciate it more." So, I'm happy to see someone aknowledge your participation in both birthday celebrations.

It's been a few years since I've been in the Fantasmic stadium, but I remember it well enough to know you had your work cut out for you. Trying to find a seat with dinner, dessert, and drink in hand.
Managing to do it without spilling anything....that's talent!:rotfl:

What a wonderful CM you encountered!! It's so nice when special moments like that happen. And the cupcake she gave you looks so pretty and delicious!

Don't worry, I'm not a fan of the preshow either. But whatever it takes to see Fantasmic, right?! :yay:

I was overjoyed at this point before realizing that I now had to carry all this into the theatre, and I also had a drink as well.

#Disneyproblems yo.

I think we all love having Disney problems like that.

I know christmas has passed... but I really want that cupcake. I have to say there is nothing better than cast members sprinkling a little pixie dust on your vacation.

I wonder how annoyed CMs are with magic bands. Good thing they have everything they need to try to make things go smoothly.

What a wonderful CM experience! I love the kids who know their stuff. She sounds adorable. How sweet of her to give you a very yummy looking Christmas cupcake!! I love that. Even more, I love that you magically balanced all the food on your way to fantasmic! :)

I've never seen the pre show so I'll count myself as lucky on that front. I do love fantasmic, but I tend to favor Disneyland's. To be fair, I've only been to wdw's once so...

Don't you love the crowds heading to the same place? Bummer that you couldn't make it that night but you had something exciting planned so it's all good. Can't wait to hear about it!

I love the TOT picture! The girls in the front are too funny!

I never got any blue lights during my trip but I saw lots of unhappy people getting them, I'm glad they let you thru though!

What fantastic pixie dust that she knew it was Walt's birthday and gave you a delicious cupcake! It looks SO good! Those chicken nugs look delicious too ;) I'm making a beeline to Cosmic Rays to get some next THURSDAY!

Great pictures of Fanstasmic! Don't worry I am actually going to see it next trip, my Mom and I have it scheduled for Saturday night!

That CM at Fantasmic...SO AMAZING!!! First, it's just so sweet that she had such a strong reaction to finding out you were celebrating Walt's birthday all day long, especially after so many CM's didn't even know what the significance of the day was! And then that CUPCAKE. OMG, that thing looks monstrous and delicious. I just love amazing Disney CM's!!!

Yay for Fantasmic! We missed out on it last trip, but we are planning to see it in May! I think DS will really love it, especially all the characters on the floats & big boat at the end.

That cupcake. That cupcake - may be the most awesome cupcake ever. It is the cupcake of awesomeness. And I am so glad you got it. :lovestruc

I really hope they get those Magic Band kinks worked out, like, yesterday.

That CM sounds amazing! How perfect. And the cupcake looks so yummy.

So curious about these plans... can't wait to hear!

Fantasmic and Wishes are my favs!! I cry every single time.. My daughter is now obsessed with "Magic Mickey" shes insisting that we see fantasmic at least twice on our upcoming trip.

Loved the update. :joker:

Love TOT ride photo... So many different reactions but my fav is that guy looking at those girls like " what in the.."??? Lol!! Good times!!

That is wonderful about the CM!

Yay for Fantasmic- you were the one who got me so hyped up about finally seeing it my last trip! :)) I will never miss it again.

So, Rob...this might be my favorite line from any of your TR's:

I would be wrong however. Are they ever going to finish this thing???
Seriously, they built all of Disneyland in 1 year. ONE YEAR!!! In 1955!!!!

I am so with you on this. I know that the technology is greater and it's an awesome ride, but c'mon, right???

That's great you had such an awesome CM interaction and an awesome cupcake. It's not always the free stuff you get, but the great service behind it that makes the difference! pixiedust:

:rotfl2: what a Tower ride photo. So many great things going on.

Okay, totally choked up at that CM story!!! My friend says they encourage giving out free food at DHS and I think that's the best thing ever. It's clear that that CM is a huge Disney fan and that is the best kind of CM. Plus, that is one heck of a cupcake. It looks so good!

We got hit pretty badly with the mist at Fantasmic this trip as well. No bueno.

Haha, it totally cracks me up with that one guy, arms up. I'm still shocked that it was so empty.

Aww. Well, you remember a little while back I asked if your friend worked at Rosie's? I thought, WOW, can you imagine if it had been her since she looked a little like the CM (at least as far as can remember). How amazing would THAT story have been? As good as that cupcake was (and it was good), the memory of the gesture far and away surpasses it.

Ugh. The thing is, it wasn't even windy AND I've been that close before. You really just can't ever tell until the show starts.

That is one epic ToT ride photo. Between your sign and the other guests' reactions... awesome!
LOL Those Famtasmic fastpasses sound awfully useful!
What a sweet story about the CM who actually knew about Walt's birthday. You deserved that cupcake for your sign and dedication all day! I love that she appreciated what you were doing. I think it was fantastic.
Glad that even though your MB never worked the CMs were really quick to make it right.
Johnny and I sat fairly close one time and got soaked, it was not pleasant.
Yikes!! That's quite a crowd at the Osborne lights! I'd cut my losses too and go back another day. :thumbsup2

Hehe... I like it too.
Oy. I just don't get it. PLUS, it's a Tier 1!!!! Just makes no sense to me.
OMG Wendy, it was just a truly wonderful experience and a gesture I will never forget. Not only did she know, but she actually cared, and that's what meant so much to me.
You know, they really did. It probably helped that I never freaked out on them, lol. But on almost every occasion, they overrode the system and let me through.
Definitely not pleasant at all. I've been sprayed before, but never just a constant stream like that. It was almost like I was on Maelstrom!!
In fairness, Fanstasmic had just let out, so this was the absolute worst time to go there. I'll get back though, but I had somewhere important to get to.

That is a great ToT picture!

And your very special birthday cupcake is beyond awesome! I think I cried a little bit with your CM story. What a great way to end the day. :thumbsup2

Can't believe your MB still didn't work. What the heck?

I miss F! and now I really want to see it. Like right now!!!!! pixiedust:

Haha, Thank You!

Oh God, it was such a sweet and amazing moment. The cupcake was great, but the reason behind it is what I'll always remember.

Yeah, it never did work either for FP+. BUT, there is one small benefit (though I didn't really take advantage). Because the CM's had to override, the system, MyDisneyExperience still showed the FP as unused. Heck, I could have had unlimited FP, lol.

I never miss Fantasmic. I just can't.

Yay an update :woohoo:

That is something else that you had such a time with your MB.....sheesh. No green Mickey's for Rob lol.:headache:

"So rather than wait for my FP return time of 5:55 – 6:15 and ending up with a seat somewhere in Epcot, I decided to go in now." Ha love your sarcasm!

Fantasmic FP+...oh boy Rob are you going to love when I get to this part of my story.....suspenseful I know. I had wondered about taking (and carrying) food into the theatre glad to see you post about this:thumbsup2

I cannot believe you sat, on what, row 2? Did I read that right? Did you not get sprayed on the entire time?

We had the same experience with the Osborne Lights both nights we went to see them. Tons of people. Having to walk all the way down past Muppet Vision (which I guess directing people traffic makes sense and is needed). And getting held up without movement at the "entrance". It seemed to me that they would hold people there when the lights starting doing their synchronized dancing and then start letting them in when the show stopped.

Can't wait to hear more!!!

YAY!!!

Nope, none. Ever. But as I just mentioned right above, the system continually showed I had unused FP, so I could have really taken advantage of that.

Haha, Thank you!! Though I wouldn't be surprised if the overflow seating would be getting perilously close to Epcot.

Oooooh, Jenn I'm intrigued!!!! Oh yeah, you can totally bring in food to the theatre. No issues there whatsoever.

Yeah, pretty much the whole time the mist screens were running. I've been that close before without issue, so it just must have been the wind direction (though the wind was really light). There was a little girl in row 1 who spent the whole show standing behind her mother to avoid the mist. I felt so bad for her. She would peek around her and over her shoulder to watch, but she just couldn't handle the constant spray.

Oh God it was just the worst time to go right after Fantasmic let out. Once I got to the point I did I just knew I had to leave. I had some big plans, and I had no idea how long it would take to even get in. Definitely a different experience than four years ago. The good news is I will get there and under much better conditions.

Great ToT ride photo! And great CM interaction story - so awesome that she totally got it with Walt's birthday and what it meant to you.

I do think they need to go back to having FP seating at Fantasmic! Glad you enjoyed the show despite the mist

Thank you!! Oh Phill, it was beyond awesome. I was so happy to have her react the way she did. It really did make me forget about the others earlier in the day. And yeah, the whole thing just meant the world to me.

Agreed. Especially if they are going to continue it as a Tier 1. I just think that's asking for trouble otherwise. But oh yes, I still LOVED it. No mist was going to "dampen" my spirits.

Great ToT photo!

What amazing CMs you had the pleasure of finding! They are really what makes WDW so magical. I loved your stories. :goodvibes

Ahhh Thank you Shannon!!

I tell you, I feel so blessed to meet these people. I really do believe they are the heart and soul of WDW. Without them, it just a collection of beautifully themed rides and buildings. The CM's truly are the difference maker. Oh, and I have MANY more CM stories to come.

It looks like you lost a few people in that ToT elevator. It's not a full house. :)
Nice job fully displaying the sign.

I want to hug that CM for you!! How awesome that you were treated to that glorious Christmas cupcake! It sounds like that wonderful CM was delighted that you recognized Walt's b-day.

It has been years since I've seen Fantasmic (seen it at DL many times) but the entire seating thing makes me want to spend my time elsewhere than in a line. But then again, I don't have a problem waiting in line an hour to see Elsa and Anna for a 4 minute interaction so go figure. :confused3

Those Osborne Lights. Oh my! I now know what all the hype is about. Makes me want to book an annual Rob's birthday at WDW trip! :upsidedow

I know. I have no idea why it was so "light". I don't remember the wait being particularly low (though I did have FP), but yeah, a LOT of empty spots. Haha, I had to get one more on ride sign photo!!

Oh Brenda, she deserves a hug too. The cupcake was great (obviously), but the gesture is what made it all so meaningful. She just was so excited about the Walt Birthday celebration that it completely warmed my heart.

You know, I totally get that. I guess at least it is seats, so once you get in you can sit and relax a bit. I just can't miss this show though. I can't. Now the Anna/Elsa thing, I might have an issue with. I don't think I could do an hour for that (let alone the 4+ hours I've been hearing about recently). Especially not when I have alternatives... ;)

Yes you do Brenda, Yes You Do!!!!! That was as close as I got on this night, but yeah, there may have been another night of lights in the future. :) I think EVERYONE should book that trip!!!

So happy you encountered a CM who was as excited as she was that you were celebrating Walt's Birthday!! Disney magic for both of you!!

Oh me too. I feel so lucky to have had that beautiful interaction and I will always be grateful to her for that.

Great CM encounter! Just as sweet as that cupcake.

Thank you SO MUCH!!!! In all honesty, as good as that cupcake was (and is was REALLY GOOD), the encounter itself was WAY sweeter.

And, I believe this is your first post on my TR too, so a Very Merry WELCOME to you!!

Managing to do it without spilling anything....that's talent!:rotfl:

Thanks Alicia!!

It was something I will never ever forget. I loved the cupcake no doubt, but the fact that she felt to need to do it meant so much more. Her attitude about the whole thing was just so touching.

Oh my it was a challenge. I guess one of the benefits of FP in this case was there was no crowd around me, but it was still tough. Thankfully I had those wonderful CM's to help, and a nice empty spot to settle in and wait.

What a wonderful CM you encountered!! It's so nice when special moments like that happen. And the cupcake she gave you looks so pretty and delicious!

Don't worry, I'm not a fan of the preshow either. But whatever it takes to see Fantasmic, right?! :yay:

Alexis, it was honestly one of my favourite memories. After the day I had with other CM's (who were all great, just a little uninformed), it was so heartening to meet her. Just total redemption. And yup, that cupcake was GOOOOOOOOOOD.

Oh thank goodness you agree. Frankly it just annoys me, lol. Just bring back the wave!!! But you're right, small price for Fantasmic!!

I think we all love having Disney problems like that.

I know christmas has passed... but I really want that cupcake. I have to say there is nothing better than cast members sprinkling a little pixie dust on your vacation.

HA true that Alex!!!

You know, I had seen that cupcake advertised at every CS location I'd been in, but it never appealed to me. But, OMG it was good. Like, SO GOOD! And I so agree, those little things are what separates Disney from everyone else.

Don't you love the crowds heading to the same place? Bummer that you couldn't make it that night but you had something exciting planned so it's all good. Can't wait to hear about it!

I have a feeling they are ridiculously annoyed by them. I certainly feel bad for them.

It was so great Jennifer and for sure a trip highlight. I can't even express how excited she was. The whole interaction was indeed magical. And yes, haha, the balancing act was magical as well.

Ugh, I just find it annoying. In the past, the crowd would just spontaneously entertain itself, and it just felt more special. I do love D-Land's version, though I've only seen it twice AND the Mark Twain was in refurb. But the Peter Pan segment alone...

You know, I really should have expected it given that Fantasmic had just let out, but I wasn't aware of the blocked pathways they had set up, so it was basically impossible at that point. But it's all just as well as you shall see. :)

Hehe, yeah I liked that too.

I saw nothing BUT blue lights, but thankfully I had some wonderful CM's working, so it very rarely caused any issues. I think not yelling at them probably helped, lol.

Oh Jess, it just completely erased the ignorance from earlier AND that cupcake was SO GOOD!! AHHH Disney Chicken nugs... WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD??? NEXT THURSDAY... GAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

You have to see it. Ahh I love it so much!!

That CM at Fantasmic...SO AMAZING!!! First, it's just so sweet that she had such a strong reaction to finding out you were celebrating Walt's birthday all day long, especially after so many CM's didn't even know what the significance of the day was! Oh God she really was. She just completely represented what I love about CM's. I really wish I could express how excited she really was. That cupcake was awesome, but her attitude and excitement is what I'll always remember.

It is such a great show and does have the added bonus of seats while you wait. I don't think I could miss it on a trip. Pax will LOVE it I think, apart from maybe the loud noises.

That cupcake. That cupcake - may be the most awesome cupcake ever. It is the cupcake of awesomeness. And I am so glad you got it. :lovestruc

Dani, it was AMAZING!!! I never expected a gingerbread cupcake to be good to be honest, but I was very wrong!! But what made it perfection was the circumstances surrounding it.

I really hope they get those Magic Band kinks worked out, like, yesterday.

That CM sounds amazing! How perfect. And the cupcake looks so yummy.

So curious about these plans... can't wait to hear!

Yeah, me too Marissa. Thankfully it didn't impact me too much. My park entry and room entry worked flawlessly, so just FP+ were issues. And while annoying, for this trip and for me, it was relatively minor. And I thankfully had some wonderful CM's.

She was a special one, that's for sure. I'm so mad I didn't get a photo, but it was awkward to get one with her on the other side of a counter. But that cupcake was indeed yummy. But then it was a pixie dusted cupcake, so it had to be good.

Ooooh, next update!!

Fantasmic and Wishes are my favs!! I cry every single time.. My daughter is now obsessed with "Magic Mickey" shes insisting that we see fantasmic at least twice on our upcoming trip.

Loved the update. :joker:

Oh I so agree. They are both so special in their own way. And I can't disagree with seeing Fantasmic twice. It's just that good!!

Thanks Kristina!

You know it's so funny that so many love that ride photo. I didn't think it was anything special but I guess I was wrong. Ha, he does have that "What the..." look about him though.

Oh Marcie, it really was wonderful too. I am just so grateful to her for giving me that moment.

YAY FANTASMIC!! I really am happy you FINALLY got to experience it. Such an amazing show.

It's not always the free stuff you get, but the great service behind it that makes the difference! pixiedust:

Oy! I really don't get it. All of Disneyland... One year to the day. Transformers at Universal... less than a year. Mine Train... Just a little sad is all.

Jillian, that is it EXACTLY. I loved the cupcake, no doubt, but the gesture far outweighed it and is what will always stay with me.

So I caught up on your whole TR last night (when I should have been sleeping so I could've been fully functional at work today :rolleyes1

So I had this whole response of comments and WOMP.

The window closed while I was gone today.

Moral of the story: I'm all caught up and enjoying the report! :yay: And the only comment that comes to mind at the moment is how much I sympathize with your LACK OF STACeY IN POP CENTURY.

When we arrived in September, OUR STACEY WAS BROKEN TOO. Everything esle worked. Just not Stacey. The front desk had no sympathy. They sent someone and told me everything else worked. :scared1: Luckily, I found some alternate Stacey channel like all the way at the end of the channels. I think it was like supposed to be the spanish version but it was still in English so all was right with the world again.

You are NOT having good luck with the FP+ :(
Thank God the CMs can over ride that tho! MY stomach would drop otherwise.

Ok, glad to know that it wasn't just me being weird thinking that my Fantasmic FP was useless. I thought there were be something else to it. I didn't get the early entry time either! Isn't the purpose of a FP+ to not wait around for the attraction? But if you wait longer to enter you won't have a prime seat. Am I right...?

YAyAYAYAYAyayaYAAY CHRISTMAS CUPCAKE!!! :yay:

Love the pic of the boat! ;)
