"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Oh my goodness Peter Pan and Wendy are on my bucket list still! He was a buff Pan too wasn't he? Loved all of your move it shake it and afternoon parade pictures! I am sad to say that I missed the opportunity to see this parade before it ended. My family is just not parade people and even though we had a prime chance to see it this trip the fam was basically like.....meh. Oh well. That is so awesome that you got to meet talking Mickey on Walt'd Birthday too of all days. How magical that must have been. I liked the pic of you and Mickey from when you were little. Those kind of pictures are so neat to see and I am sure hold so many memories for you. Great update and cannot wait to hear more :)

Uhm, so yes, first off, we are DEFINTELY doing MiSi costumes in Sept, the only reason I wouldn’t do them would be if I was casted and doing that parade by then…lol. But the others would probably still do them and I’d just work that night lol.

AHAHAHAHAHA THAT COMMENT ON PETER!!! #butreally He is a little buff for Peter, and Steven saw his friend as Elliot (?) in MSEP last week and was all “wait what?” lol. I have a different favorite friend of Wendy though!

Baha, that is awesome with Tigger, I love it when characters do stuff like that, keeping it awesome all the way offstage!

…pretty sure the far banner holder in cadct is my friend….

NO FLOAT?!?! NO FLOAT?!?!?! WHAT THE EFF NO FLOAT?!?! Seriously the day after we left to??? Unfair lol!!...wait…dec 5th? I feel like we were just over at ak that day..yup…that was our audition/ak day!

Great parade shots and I’m happy you took some of the parade performers too, not jus the characters!! :D

Brings tears to your eyes?! I AM CRYING. Ugh, talking Mickey tho, I freaked out and teared up in that room, it was seriously surreal to me!

Catching up! I love the castle shows, but I never stop to watch them, and I don't know why...I'm always in a hurry I guess, this is why I need a solo trip someday! :rotfl:

Ooh a Move it Shake it costume for MNSSHP would be amazing!! I'm considering going to MNSSHP this year, and I need to come up with a creative costume like that...something that represents the parks, and something that is my favorite. If only I could dress up as the Tower of Terror...:rotfl2:

Don't worry, I never had a cinnamon roll from MSB either, so if I ever get one at Gaston's, I'll have nothing to compare it to! I'm sure it's yummy, that picture of it looked so good!!

I kind of wish I saw the parade one last time before it left, but as usual, no time! :confused3 I don't know, I just can't do afternoon parades! I am excited for the new one though, it looks like it's going to be really cool!

OMG talking Mickey!!!!! :faint: I still cannot believe that he TALKS!!! And he wished you a happy birthday! Best birthday ever!!! And on Walt's birthday...I don't know how you weren't crying in a ball on the floor after that interaction was over! I really need to meet talking Mickey on my next trip! :thumbsup2

I'll tell you Jen, a solo trip really opens up moments you otherwise miss. Those shows are so great.

I just have to! I just love that show/parade so much, so it would be perfect I think. I just have to figure out how to do it. Now see, a little creativity would bring a Tower costume to life. How awesome would that be?

Wow, it seems a lot of people didn't have the MSB cinnamon bun. I don't feel so bad now. Believe me, the one I had at Gaston's sure was yummy.

I've only seen it a couple of times. I'm just not a fan of the daytime parades either (other than Move It Shake It), but I sure do plan to see Festival of Fantasy. It looks like its gonna be good.

I will neither confirm nor deny whether any tears were shed. It was an experience I will never forget, that's for sure. It is indeed a must do. OMG!

Wow, Peter, what gym with a tanning bed do they have there in neverland? I'm sure his interaction was very fun though. I've never met Wendy & I really want to but their line is always crazy long.

Great parade shots!! Hello there Dale! I love him. Belle's dress is just gorgeous! Props to those dancers. I applaud them & hope they all drank a lot of water after their performance. I can't imagine dancing from frontierland to Main Street. Maybe when I was 14, but... MK has magical powers though so maybe we could dance for an extended distance!

There are no words for talking Mickey. That is at the top of my list for next week. I LOVE that he pointed to the sign. How magical! When I visited for the first time as an adult, I noticed the phrase it all started with a mouse & that really stuck with me. Now that Mickey can wish children & grown children alike a happy birthday...that has always been the dream for us all. That's the true magic of Disney. I'm so happy you got to experience this, for your birthday & Walt's! What a wonderfully dreamy memory.

Haha, it's just so bizarre to me that Peter is a boy, and here he is all buff. I did get really lucky with my timing on this greet though.

Thanks Jennifer. I was thoroughly impressed with those dancers. That is a lot of dancing, and their energy was still so high at that point. Really impressive.

There really are no words. I remember seeing talking Mickey in shows and just being blown away. Now to actually get to interact with him is just beyond. and YES, pointing at that sign on that day was so emotional. It was a moment I will never forget.

Loving your trip report! popcorn::

Always happy to find fellow Nova Scotians on the Disboards. :cool1:

Every year I say THIS will be the year I try a SOLO trip to Walt Disney World.
You may be giving me the nudge I need to do it! :goodvibes

THANK YOU SO MUCH and WELCOME!!!

Ahhh, it's amazing how many of us there are and it is so awesome.

I honesty don't think you'd be disappointed. It's such a different experience and oh so wonderful. While this one wasn't as "solo" as the last, there was still plenty of solo time. And I promise you'll discover things you never knew were there.

Fun update Rob! I love the story about Tigger surprising that couple. Too funny.

Am I losing my mind or are Cindy and Ariel supposed to be up on the float rather than walking? I swear I've seen that parade way too many times, and I don't think I've ever seen them walking!

Gym-Rat Peter. :rotfl2: Looks accurate!

Did talking Mickey freak you out at all? Do you think it will be weird for kids? Especially one who takes her character M&G very very seriously and knows darn well that Mickey's never spoken to her before????

Thanks Shannon. OMG it was so hysterical. She literally SCREAMED!!! I love stuff like that.

Of course you mean Belle and Ariel (Cindy was on her float), but YES they are. You are NOT losing your mind. The only explanation I had was perhaps the float was being prepped for use in the Christmas parade taping. I had never seen them walking either and it really surprised me.

OMG he was jacked.

He certainly didn't freak me out (probably because I was hoping it would be talking Mickey), but I have actually heard that others thought it was "creepy". You make a really interesting point with kids who are so used to him not talking. How do you explain that he is suddenly talking? I know Maddie knows her stuff, so I imagine some prep work may be necessary. The other problem is, at least right now, you may or may not get him. So to prep your child for talking and then having him not talk could be really confusing.

Neverland....where you never grow up, but can apparently buff up like no one's business. So sad to know that Peter might be on the juice. :worried: He's seriously a scary Pan.

So cool that you got to share that moment with talking Mickey. I know that has to mean so much to you. I mean, come on...you practically grew up in Disney World. We didn't get to see talking Mickey when we were there. I so wanted to, but my kids weren't feeling it. :confused3

Great update man! :thumbsup2

Haha, I guess you never grow up, but your body does. I was sad thinking about that too. What ARE they putting in pixie dust these days?

Oh yeah, it was a special moment for sure. You know, a lot of kids aren't as interested in Mickey these days, usually gravitating to the next big thing, currently Anna and Elsa. It's kinda sad really.

Thank you my friend.

So glad you finally got to meet Peter and Wendy! Peter looks gooooood.

That is too funny about Tigger! He's a mischievous one.

Did I ever tell you my sister's dance school performed at MK just before the parade? Except it was in June...and they were wearing heels...I felt for her, that was TOUGH.

Yeah, this parade has never been my favorite, but I'm VERY excited for Festival of Fantasy.

Rob, I am SO GLAD you got to meet Talking Mickey! I go on an emotional rant when I get to that in my TR, but rest assured tears were shed. And how perfect to have it happen on Walt's birthday. :goodvibes

Yeah me too Courtney. Haha, he was pretty buff for a "boy".

OMG her reaction was priceless. So love Tigger.

Oh wow, I don't think so. Yikes, now THAT would have been brutal. Awsome experience I'm sure, but just, OW!

For someone who generally has no interest in daytime parades, I too am really excited for this one. From the little I've seen, it's gonna be amazing.

Oh me tooooooooooo! It was very emotional, so I can only imagine your experience. Meeting Mickey that day was critical.

I'm so happy for you! How magical you got to talk to Mickey on Walt's birthday right after your own. I haven't been sold on the idea of talking Mickey before, but now I am coming around! Can't wait to read about the rest of the trip!

OMG I was so happpy Elena, you have no idea. It was a moment I've waited a lifetime for. I know some find it quite strange, but I thought it was wonderful.
There's some pixie dust a-coming next update.

ok, I must be a bad person because my first thought after reading that you came upon, what was referred to as the “pretty Wendy” is picture that family coming across that meet & greet at another time and being all "hey everyone, let's go meet .... aw, never mind, it's just ugly Wendy" ;)

That's sounds like a funny scene with Tigger following that lady ... again, Bad Phil coming out wondering if he has ever tried that and the person freaked out and like pepper sprayed him or something

'I’m sure the workers were inspired by the ride’s namesake dwarf’s work ethic .... I would be wrong however." .... needs more whistling I guess

Ok, that shot of Gippetto is a littel creepy and totally justifies it to me why kids can get scared of the characters

wait a minute, with the other princesses, gasp, walking! Did that mean they didn't use the mirrored castle float thing that they seem to use in every parade? Perhaps hope it won't get reused in the Festival of Fantasy parade :woohoo:

That's a great pic with Talking Mickey pointing to the Happy Birthday Walt sign!

Hahaha, yeah, i kinda wondered what the "Ugly Wendy" even looks like. They all seem pretty to me.

Ooh nobody dares pepper spray Tigger. Have you never seen the video of Tigger taking out the little kid?

I'm for whatever it takes at this point to get this thing done. NFL is going to look amazing when it's all done. Lets get it done.

Haha, I don't know, I kinda like it. :)

Yup they were walking. Perhaps Disney was hinting someone needed some exercise? I actually think the float was being used for something else (Xmas Parade taping maybe), but it was weird to see them walking.

Oh I loved that shot and so happy Mickey did that. Of course "the point" is a pretty common Disney character trait.

Whoops! I never came back to comment on your previous update!
Um you TOTALLY need to be a MISICI dancer for MNSSHP! And if you make one of those Mickey tee shirts like the guys wear I'm pretty sure my mom wants one ;)

"From left to right… Dan, Dan, Me, Dan, and Dan."
BAHAHAHAHHAAHA thanks for clearing that up for us.

You always seem to get such good shots of Dream Along with Mickey!

Gym-rat Peter?! :rotfl:

If Santa is wearing a Santa shirt, that MUST be to throw people off :scratchin

whoa whoa whoa...I can't even picture a parade starting from where it's suppose to end?

I was kinda sad to see it go? I think....well at least when there was NO parade in Jan it opened up more time for other things....but I am VERY excited for Festival of Fantasy! :hyper:

BUT THE PICTURE OF MICKEY POINTING TO THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY WALT SIGN :lovestruc

Oh my goodness Peter Pan and Wendy are on my bucket list still! He was a buff Pan too wasn't he? Loved all of your move it shake it and afternoon parade pictures! I got really lucky with the Peter and Wendy meet right at the cutoff. And YES, he's MASSIVE!!!!
That's usually me (for the parade NOT Move It Shake It), and the only reason I watched was because it was going away. The ONLY reason.
OMH Jenn, ME TOO!!! It was beyond magical in that moment for sure. I loved it. He definitely goes way back for me and it's always special.

Uhm, so yes, first off, we are DEFINTELY doing MiSi costumes in Sept, the only reason I wouldn’t do them would be if I was casted and doing that parade by then…lol. But the others would probably still do them and I’d just work that night lol.

Yup I think me too. I just have to, you know, book a trip. Hey, maybe you'll have a real one by then!!

The reall funny thing is he's really great, just not what I picture when I think of Peter. OMG friend of Elliott?? Well, I guess he'd keep the dragon in line anyway. I think I know the "Wendy" you're referring to.

Oh me too, and their walk is so long, there's lots of great "interactions" to witness.

Seriously???? That's pretty cool. There were groups from Canada.

No... float. Honestly, it really took me for a loop. Like, I was SURE there was a ginormous float. I do think it returned though, so it was just a temp thing. Still, pretty cool.

You know, I always appreciate the performers. Always. Don't get me wrong, I love the characters, but you can get photos with them in person. The performers are what make the parades/shows for me. Of course that is especially true of MiSi.

That's the exact right word too Katt... surreal. And emotional. And beautiful. OK, lots of words. But I'll never forget it.

Whoops! I never came back to comment on your previous update!

BUT THE PICTURE OF MICKEY POINTING TO THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY WALT SIGN :lovestruc

Well Meg, your timing is perfect then.

OMG I know, it would be an amazing costume. Haha, I will let you know.

I was so happy I wrote that down.

Aww thanks. I always think they suck. But I do love that show.

Just saying he'd be tested at the Olympics is all.

Totally. Seriously, how clever is he??

Haha, no. It was supposed to start on Main Street and end in Frontierland, but they ended up going the other way.

I just couldn't get into this one. The floats were great, but I just wasn't a big fan of the music or the outfits. But I am SO looking forward to the Festival of Fantasy.

I KNOW!!!!!!!!!! Died!

I love that you continued to have a magical day on Walt's birthday.

That is fantastic that your timing for meeting Peter and Wendy worked out.

I love the characters who are full of mischief- Tigger and Chip and Dale are my favorites! Too funny about Tigger sneaking up on that lady!

Talking Mickey-Talking Mickey-Talking Mickey! Awesome!

Holy smokes! That is a gym rat Peter! A little too in shape to be a boy if you ask me. :lmao: Not that he's bad to look at. Just....disarming? :rotfl2:

Too funny about Tigger! I love people getting scared at random times!

That's evil! Tricking the couple next to you.......:lmao:

Talking Mickey is amazing! I walked in and just stood there for a minute. Like.....

Gym-rat Peter :rotfl:

Wow, what an emotional day you had on Walt's birthday! Talking Mickey on Walt's day... :cloud9:

LOL me and Jess call him Buff Pan. :lmao: He doesn't exactly look like an eternal child but you know, whatever.

They got Disneyland done in a year cause Walt was around crackin' that whip!! In the nicest way possible, of course. (:

Wow, why were Ariel and Eric walking on the street during the parade? And Belle? Where's Beast? They're all supposed to be on that castle float at the end! That's weird.

TALKING MICKEY! :smickey: I really didn't think I would get to meet him and then on my last day, we did! I agree with you, words just can not capture the magic of that!

It's fantastic that you were able to spend your birthday at Disney World! I'd love to do the same but I think it's unlikely with my mid-July birthday - I worry I'd die of heat stroke. :lmao:

I'm sorry your day didn't end the way you wanted it to - Main Street is crazy around Wishes time! I'm sure you'll make up for it. :goodvibes

Would you believe I've never stopped long enough to watch an afternoon parade at Disney World?! I love the MSEP, but during the afternoon I'm either (1) enjoying an attraction, or (2) resting in my room. One of these days I need to see the Jammin' Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom - I hear lots of good things about it. :thumbsup2

Great pic with Peter & Wendy!

I'm glad you got to watch Celebrate A Dream Come True one last time before it disappeared!

Aw Rob, I am SO glad you got to meet Talking Mickey and that it was a wonderful experience for you! And that he wished you Happy Birthday! Truly magical!

I always think of Peter Pan as being pretty scrawny... those muscles just don't seem right! Not that I mind them though! :lmao:

Oh how neat for all of those school dancers to get to dance in the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade. Such a cool experience for them. Someday I'll be in a Disney parade.... we can all dream, right?!

O! M! G! I have never noticed that Ariel dress before! Love, love, LOVE it! It is just so gorgeous! :cloud9: Time to find a designer to replicate it for one of my girls... ;)

YAY you got to meet TALKING Mickey!!! :cheer2: Your day does keep getting better!

there was a bunch of stuff I was gonna say but i got distracted by ur close up pic of Dale during the parade n now all I can think about is how i really really need to get a better pic of my munks !!!

Okay, you freaked me out a little when I saw my name on your reply. :scared1: :lmao: But, then when I read on that it was because of my Dis-BFF it was all good! :thumbsup2

Wow, yeah that Peter has been doing some very heavy dualing with Hook to get those biceps! :rotfl2:

You had a fantastic parade spot! ::yes:: We pretty much never stop for the mid-day parades at all. Funny since I LOVE to watch parades on TV. :confused3

Talking Mickey!!!! I completely forgot that this had been rolled out already!!!! :mickeyjum That is so wonderful that you got to experience it for the first time on Walt's Birthday! pixiedust: Disney truly is the most magical place!!!

I love that you continued to have a magical day on Walt's birthday.

That is fantastic that your timing for meeting Peter and Wendy worked out.

Talking Mickey-Talking Mickey-Talking Mickey! Awesome!

Thanks Dee. I just couldn't stop. Not quite done yet though.

It really was so lucky. Just in under the wire so very little wait. Well, until I let the fam behind go ahead.

Those are the ones for SURE!!! I have never in my life had a bad encounter with those three characters. OMG it was so funny to see.

The irony is, Mickey's talking, and yet it's just one of those moments for which there are no words.

Holy smokes! That is a gym rat Peter! A little too in shape to be a boy if you ask me. :lmao: Not that he's bad to look at. Just....disarming? :rotfl2:

Talking Mickey is amazing! I walked in and just stood there for a minute. Like.....

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what the thought process here was. Don't get me wrong, he's terrific. It's just... odd.

OMG Danielle it was so freakin' funny. That lady just SCREAMED!!!!! Just priceless.

Oh God, I couldn't believe they bought it. Yes folks, the Disney parade you've been sitting here waiting for was a bunch of school groups and the Main Street Philharmonic. But to give them credit, they seemed content with that, so they for sure LOVED the real parade.

Oh me too. I was second in the groups brought in, and was just in awe. I love that he does a little "show" before the greeting. Well, not really a show, but kinda. I was honestly praying before we waked into the room that it would be him. It needed to be.

Gym-rat Peter :rotfl:

Wow, what an emotional day you had on Walt's birthday! Talking Mickey on Walt's day... :cloud9:

Bahaha, I expect to see pixie dust sold in health food stores now.

Oh Tracy, it was great so far, especially Talking Mickey. But the evening may be even better. :)

LOL me and Jess call him Buff Pan. :lmao: He doesn't exactly look like an eternal child but you know, whatever.

They got Disneyland done in a year cause Walt was around crackin' that whip!! In the nicest way possible, of course. (:

TALKING MICKEY! :smickey: I really didn't think I would get to meet him and then on my last day, we did! I agree with you, words just can not capture the magic of that!

Haha, yup, Buff Peter works too. As a character I thought he was great and I imagine the ladies don't complain too much, but still... just a little off.

Just goes to show... WE NEED WALT BACK!!! Or put Lasseter in charge. Ugh, seriously I LOVE Disney, but "Corporate Disney" drives me crazy.

It was so strange when I saw it, that at the time I wasn't even sure what I was really seeing. I honestly was thinking I was mixing up my parades, but I was SO SURE there was a massive Princess float. Which obviously there is. I know for sure I saw that float on this trip though. I have a feeling it's absence had something to do with either the upcoming parade taping or maybe even MVMCP.

Lia, I died. We've all seen him talk now in various shows, but there is nothing like him talking directly to you. Nothing. It was like my entire childhood was leading to that moment. :cloud9:

:thumbsup2

Oh Jenny, it really is special and thankfully December. Yeah, I'd be a little weary about July too. December was plenty hot enough for me.

In that moment, I just felt so awful. It's so weird too, because I kind of felt like I was letting people down since I make so much about my Wishes adoration. To be so unprepared I honestly felt like I kind of failed all my readers. Like I said, it was such a strange feeling. But... OH MY YES, I will make up for that and then some.

Hmmmm, does that include Move It Shake It? Because if so, YOU NEED TO SEE AND EXPERIENCE MOVE IT SHAKE IT!!!!!! The other daytime parades do nothing for me, even Jammin Jungle (probably my least fav actually). BUT, I do think everyone should see them all at least once... except Move It Shake It which should be experienced at every opportunity. :)

Great updates Rob. They really make me laugh.

Peter is really fairly bulky is he not?! Seriously - I'm afraid I think he probably has grown up - benchpressing Lost Boys indeed :lmao:

The whole Tigger story had me chuckling - that is right up my street! I would kill to see something like that - I love the idea that the anonymity of being a fur character allows such naughtiness!! Hilarious!

Talking Mickey! Wowser! I think if he talked to me I'd be kind of struck dumb - or I'd say something idiotic or inappropriate - come to think of it, it would definitely be the latter....:hyper:

Gepetto - a fairly lively old gent by the looks of things!

Thanks Alexis!! My first with them too.

Me too for sure. Still wouldn't be a must do for me, but it felt necessary given that it was closing.

Alexis, there are no words. It was truly a lifelong dream come true. I will never ever forget it.

I always think of Peter Pan as being pretty scrawny... those muscles just don't seem right! Not that I mind them though! :lmao:

See, that's what I think too Rachel. I'm sure you ladies aren't completely opposed, but it just looks weird.

Oh yeah, that has to be an amazing experience. And they filled the entire street. It was impressive. And YES, we should never EVER stop dreaming. EVER.

I think I'd like it better without the puffy shoulders, but it's Ariel, so I'm good. :) But now I wish I had better photos to use for reference.

That was a highlight for sure. And the day will continue to get better too.

there was a bunch of stuff I was gonna say but i got distracted by ur close up pic of Dale during the parade n now all I can think about is how i really really need to get a better pic of my munks !!!

:rotfl2: Somehow I knew that would happen ;)

Okay, you freaked me out a little when I saw my name on your reply. :scared1: :lmao: But, then when I read on that it was because of my Dis-BFF it was all good! :thumbsup2

Hahahahaha!!!!!! Yes, totally due to your buddy Cheeky.

Seriously right??? At least, that's what I HOPE is the cause.

It was a fantastic spot, but then again, I was there for MUCH longer than I'd hoped. I never do those parades either, but since it was ending, I felt I should.

OMG it was so unreal too. To see that mouse talking TO ME, it was just the best. And it was even more crucial due to Walt's birthday.

Great updates Rob. They really make me laugh.

Peter is really fairly bulky is he not?! Seriously - I'm afraid I think he probably has grown up - benchpressing Lost Boys indeed :lmao:

Gepetto - a fairly lively old gent by the looks of things!

Thank you so much Claire. I so appreciate that.

He was indeed a little jacked, yes.

OMG, it was so funny too. That Tigger never fails to entertain me.

Honestly, it was one of the most surreal and amazing and precious moments I've had in Disney, and one I'll never forget.

Haha, he was for sure.

That is an adorable picture of you when you were a little boy. What a great flashback! That retro Mickey is just too cool.

I think I would die and go to heaven, too, if Mickey talked to me! :thumbsup2

Love the parade pics!

Was all of Disneyland really built in a year? So was the Ponce de Leon hotel in Saint Augustine and that building is crazy amazing.

Come on Disney - get that mine train done! ::yes::

Walt's birthday is shaping up very nicely! They should have dedicated the parade to him. :rolleyes1 At least Mickey knew the significance of the day and yes, that is a truly memorable photo with your sign. :thumbsup2

That Tigger is a rascal! They have to keep an eye on him. I wouldn't mind being stalked by him though. :upsidedow

Ariel has another new dress? Is that her winter edition? Lovely nonetheless. They made all the princesses walk? Maybe I'm not remembering the correct parade but aren't they supposed to be on a float?

Glad that you have the money shot from your Mickey interaction!
