"ENCHANTED TALES with ROB" - A Birthday/Christmas DISer Celebration! **NEW TR LINK**

Isn't the Grand Floridian amazing!? I love the gingerbread house and all of the little details!

How cool to see portions of the parade filmed! Seeing your MK pictures make me want to go back at Christmas to really do it right! I think I just need to move to Orlando! :rotfl: Oh and wonderful pictures in BoG!!

I just got all caught up! Wow great pictures of the taping of the Christmas morning parade. It really did not seem that crowed around that area and gave me a little hope I might be able to catch a little of the taping when we go this year. I always thought it was crazy crowded.

Anyway, I can't wait to read about how bad a sold out party really is.

Another wonderful update. I really am enjoying reading your TR :goodvibes

Rob- the link you gave me takes me to the link for BOG but it doesn't let me put in my reservation number.. Only the first letter and nothing more... Maybe bc I'm on my phone?! Whatcha think?

omg pantless prince. I had never realized! But now it's all I see lol

Bahahaha, I don't know what it says about me, but that's all I could see. But I'm so glad I was able to pass that along so now I'm not the only one.

I loved all the decoration pictures! Thanks for posting them.

I laugh every time I see the prince with no pants... too funny. Disney should really fix that.

Aww thank you. The decorations in and around Main Street are just so pretty.

Haha, they really should. How did that get missed honestly?

Your parade taping photos are sooo cool!!! You really got up and close!!

Also, your BOG photos are some of the best I've seen --- glad to hear your lunch was tasty! :goodvibes

Thanks Julie. It was actually pretty easy to get close for the performances which really surprised me. No where near the madhouse I was expecting.

Oh wow, thank you!! The lunch really was fantastic and made even better due the the immaculate surroundings. Just a beautiful building.

OMG THE PRESENTS!!! :santa:  :woohoo:

"After watching Lara Spencer read, and re-read, and re-read, and re-read from the teleprompter, I moved on." :rotfl2:

YOUR BOG SEAT>>>>>>>> :cloud9:
OMG I CAN'T

ugh the rose gallery.............<<<<<<<<<<<<

OMG PANTLESS PRINCE :rotfl2:

AREN'T THEY WICKED????!!!!!! And they were right above the Confectionery so you just know they're filled with candy!!!!

Oh Lordy, watching the taping was insanely boring. It's no lie what I said. Over and over and over. Oy, time to move on...

It was perfection Meg! The only spot that I may have liked more would have been right on the opposite end by the windows, But then you constantly have flashbulbs going off, so I think I actually preferred my spot.

Yeah, not the best for sure. Definitely worth a stop though, but would not be my choice to eat.

You'll never look at that the same ever again. :stir:

The pictures you got of all the decorations are beautiful! I miss Disney at Christmas!

You're right, those 'ugly' stepsisters are far from ugly! It's funny, but I guess the only thing that classifies them as ugly is their makeup.

Ahhhh, Be Our Guest! I'm so glad you can make a FP+ reservation for this meal! The pictures you got are great! I got a kick out of the pic of the 'statue' (or whatever you wanna call it) of Belle and Beast dancing. There's a slight glare on it that makes Beast look like he's afraid of something. :rotfl:

Aww thank you Marissa!! Nothing like a Disney Christmas.

Haha, yeah, I guess you don't want to put out a casting call for "ugly people", but these ones in particular were so pretty that the excessive make-up just couldn't "ugly" them up at all.

Oh me too since I don't imagine I could have eaten here if not for FP+, though I still don't really understand why they call it a Fastpass. It's a little misleading. OMG :rotfl2: I never noticed that!!! Bahahaha, he looks terrified!!!!!! OMG too funny!

"O Holy Night" is my favorite Christmas song too! :goodvibes

With each Be Our Guest update I see on the Dis, I am reminded how much I regret not doing two things in my September trip: that and not going to a MNSSHP! Ugh. But... Hoping I can pull off a trip this September and fix that debacle. We shall see!

Awww... You must have made that little girl's day when you showed her the picture and she felt like she was responsible for its momentous capture! :cloud9:

You have excellent taste Tracy!!!

BoG really is a Must Do. I am so glad I decided to take advantage of the FP and just go. It's spectacular. And you skipped MNSSHP??????? Do NOT do that again!!

Awww I really hope so. She was so proud, as well she should have been.

I must have been there around the same time at MK. I saw Lara Spencer doing that over and over too! She was talking about the magic bands when I was there.

Also, I went to the christmas party on dec 6th too! I didn't realize we went to it the same day.

Oh man REALLY????? I have to admit, I didn't stick around that area for too long. I was getting kinda bored.

Seriously??? I've since found out there were quite a few DISers at that party and I saw absolutely none. Bummer!!! Thank GOD you showed up the next day.

I liked that sign. It really is rubbing it in the face of people not getting to attend the Christmas party.

Alicia and I have a local friend who got there early to see the taping of The Wanted that morning. We got to see some of the floats on the 7th.

Yeah they really should have re-thought the color of the stain glass with Prince Eric's pants.

Haha, it really is if you read it right.

Yeah, I hear they had a bigger crowd, but I had no interest AT ALL. I really did consider attending some of the actual parade taping the next day, but I just knew it was going to be crazy (EMH, Saturday, and one of the few Wishes/MSEP days) so I ultimately decided to pass.

Right??!! I have no idea what the though process was here.

So it sounds like when they tape the performances for the Christmas Parade show, they are actually singing it and not lip syncing? That's pretty cool because I just assumed everything that goes on that stage in front of the castle is lip synced.

You know, I have been wanting to dine in the West Wing. After two unsuccessful attempt at it with Dinner ADRs, maybe the lunch is the way to go?

Yes, from what I could tell (at least the acts I saw), they were absolutely singing live, which was so appreciated by me. I hate lip synced performances with a passion.

Yes, one of the benefits of lunch is you can sit wherever you want, as long as there is an empty table of course. But since you're not seated by them, you have a bit more freedom to choose.

It really is!!! I'm so glad I took the time to visit finally, and what better time than Christmas.

It was so cool. It was particularly rewarding to watch on Christmas morning and declare, I SAW THAT IN PERSON!!!!

Truthfully, for the performance taping, the crowd wasn't bad at all. It also helped being a Friday and being a Christmas Party day (so closing at 7). The actual parade was taped the next day, and I heard THAT was insane.

Haha, I'll be getting to the SOLD OUT party very soon.

Aww thank you so much for reading.

Rob- the link you gave me takes me to the link for BOG but it doesn't let me put in my reservation number.. Only the first letter and nothing more... Maybe bc I'm on my phone?! Whatcha think?

Hmmmm, I'm not sure. You should be able to log in at that address using the same login you use at any other Disney site such as MyDisneyExperience. I just tried it and can still log in. Once you're logged in it should ask for your resort confirmation # (looks like this, 432662454236, 12 digits) and then the days of your trip should show up. When I log in I don't get asked that anymore, so I'm just going by memory. Then just pick the day you want and you'll get some available times. Right now it'll probably tell you there's nothing available, but that's only because they haven't released them yet. For my trip, I couldn't pick something until like a couple weeks prior. So, just keep checking.

CHARACTER MEETS AND HOLIDAY TREATS, THAT'S WHAT MVMCP IS MADE OF
Day 4 – December 6, 2013 Part 3

I spent a solid hour at Be Our Guest which was a really nice break in really great surroundings.
It may not sound like much, but I am not usually one to spend that much time just eating, so to spend an hour was unusual for me.

I found myself drawn to the Hub after leaving BOG,
As I heard the familiar tune of "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)" coming from the stage.

Sure enough, there was Ne-Yo performing his hit single.

I only caught the very end, but it was still pretty cool.

I posted on Facebook,
”Just watched Neo perform in Magic Kingdom... No big deal”

Immediately after posting I realized my spelling error as it was Ne-Yo the R&B singer performing,
AND NOT, in fact, Keanu Reeves dodging slow motion bullets, although that would have been cool too.
And really not totally out of the realm of possibility since there is a White Rabbit around sometimes.

The performance was over, but it was fine, as it was time for my first FP+ of the day, the Christmas themed Jingle Cruise.

103.jpg

The FP line extended out to here, which was quite commonplace as the FP scanners are right at the entrance of the rides.

104.jpg

Of course, this can cause a bit of backlog since you have to stop and scan your band first before entering.
Once you get past that point though, the queue is generally pretty empty.
Hopefully Disney comes up with a better solution at some point because it really does create a lot of confusion.
It’s bad enough in a quieter time, but in the middle of July, this will really be a major problem unless it’s addressed.

Of course, I once again got the dreaded “blue” Mickey head, but thankfully the CM overrode again and I was let through.
The queue was adorned with some Christmas decorations for the occasion,
But most of them are blurry because there really was no line once you got passed the scanners so I was constantly in motion.

108.jpg

109.jpg

110.jpg

Once you got past the queue and the slightly re-themed boats, there wasn’t a whole lot different about the ride.
This was still the same, but then you can’t alter an icon without expecting some major backlash.

111.jpg

I really was expecting some Santa hats on the animals or something based on the advertising Disney had done,
But the only “Christmas” change came in the form of some of the jokes, and our good buddy Trader Sam who had a Christmas necklace on.

112.jpg

Overall, nothing significant to report here at all, but I least appreciate WDW doing something.

After departing my boat, it was now time for FP #2… Splash Mountain!!!!
But first I took a photo of the FP return for Big Thunder because, yeah, Disney needs to work on this stat.

113.jpg

The FP return line for Splash was non-existent however, which was great news.
The bad news is the line was non-existent because Splash was, once again as it seems to be so very often, broken.

114.jpg

Even the ever present "Looks like Brer Fox and Brer Bear are causing some kind of commotion" announcement was completely garbled,
Like if you are listening to a song and your batteries are dying.
Despite the disappointment of no Splash, this did make me laugh... A LOT!

I was really in the mood to get my Splash on right now too, but, being the creative and resourceful person I am…

… I improvised.

115.jpg

And yes, I did indeed get quite a few weird looks as I stood there taking photos of a water fountain substituting for Splash Mountain,
But I was just thinking of you all and this very trip report, so the relative embarrassment was completely worth it.

I waited for a bit to see if maybe it would start up again, but honestly,
I get a little nervous riding after a breakdown for fear that it may go down again with me on it.
It’s not safety I’m concerned with though… it’s time.
I did not want to waste precious park time sitting in a log going nowhere.

Generally, if a ride is down during your FP time, you can use your pass on almost anything else,
But Disney had opted not to officially declare Splash down, so I didn’t get the automatic “anything else” option.
Eventually I just decided to go to one of the FP kiosks and changed my FP from Splash to Haunted Mansion myself.

It was right after that when I overheard a fellow guest refer to Splash as "Magic Mountain",
So obviously I did what any self respecting Disney fan would do under the same circumstances…

SHOOT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!… (a very dirty look).

I was in Frontierland after all, and this is how things get settled in the Old West when dealing with stupid people.
After hiding the evidence in the Rivers of America, I moved on to my NEW FP+ attraction.

117.jpg

116.jpg

And, of course when I went to the entrance I got blue… Buuuuuuut, they let me through again, so no biggie.
Seriously, I had some VERY understanding FP CM’s this trip.

118.jpg

The FP line completely bypasses the interactive queue, but for now I was ok with it.
They even had a FP screen in the FP queue.

119.jpg

It was while I was waiting to enter the mansion that I saw one of the cutest and coolest things I have EVER seen.

There was this little boy and he had Mickey…

SHAVED ONTO HIS HEAD!!!

So, like any good upstanding Disney citizen, and again thinking only of all of you, I asked his mother if I could take a picture of it,

And she happily and thankfully obliged.

120.jpg

Easily one of the BEST Hidden Mickey’s of all time.

TO BE CONTINUED…

Awe man, we were totally crossing through the hub at the same time!!! I remember hearing that song when we were on our way into CRT, but we were on the tomorrowland side! SO CLOSE lol.

Glad that fp+ wasn't too big of a problem for you, we managed to have a pretty good time too that week with ours!

Also, the whole "listing to a song and then your batteries start to die"…that's a sentence that there are people in this world who would have no clue what you're talking about…as music players nowadays don't run like that…and that's weird...

Wow! What a cute head! :rotfl:

I love all the Christmas decorations in the queue for JC. I expected there to be more Christmas themes too, to be honest. Not that I saw it, except for in your pictures!

I loved at your Splash improv... good job!

What a bummer they didn't do more for the Jingle Cruise :confused3

You really lucked out with all the understanding CMs, but what was going on with your FPs?!

Ugh, Splash is ALWAYS closed!!!!!

Super AWESOME hidden Mickey! I wonder if my son would let me do that on his head... hmmm

SO cool that you got to see Ne-Yo, Rob! Although I do wish he had picked something a bit more Christmassy, but oh well.

Santa hats on the animals would have been so cool! Yeah, I was expecting a new spiel and more details, but it was still fun.

The question is, can I get FP+ for that water fountain?

So glad to hear that the FP+ CMs were so understanding!

We spent quite a bit of time in BOG too, just taking in the atmosphere. It's a beautiful place to spend some time!
That's really cool that you got to see Ne-Yo performing.
I can't say I was a big fan of the Jingle Cruise. It felt to me like they could have done so much more with it. :confused3
Omg those FP+ lines! Whoa! I hope they can do something to make them more efficient or something.
BOOOO Spash being down, love your improvisation though. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
Jeeez, blue Mickey heads all around for you. Not cool, but glad you had all kinds of understanding CMs!
Speaking of Mickey heads...
OMG that little boy's haircut is the best thing ever!!!

I really love that castle picture with all the confetti or snow or whatever it is. Very cool to look at!

What a cool kid! That is awesome!!

That kid's Mickey head was awesome!! :thumbsup2 Thankfully we never saw the lines for FPP returns like those long ones! Whew! Crazy!! I did think the Jingle Jungle Cruise was cute...even just on the surface, I did appreciate the effort as well! Splash in the water fountain ...hilarious!! :thumbsup2

Very cute hidden mickey!!!

Were the crowds bad around the hub with the taping going on? We almost went to the park on a taping day in 2010, but opted to go elsewhere for fear of the crowds.

Bummer that Splash was out of order.

Double bummer that the Jingle Cruise wasn't more holiday specific and special.
