Hi guys!

Do all of the kids who want to participate get a role?

We have a 3.5 year old who would love to participate, but she is small for her age and I'm wondering if they might not choose her thinking she's too young for a role.

Any info would be great, thanks!

Yes.

They make up enough roles to cover all the kids in the room. Some are small and secondary, but the kids get to stand up front with a little flat sign or prop. They try to pick appropriate size/age kids for the roles. It is a lot of fun and all will get a photo-op with Belle. Anyone else that wants a photo op should say so as you go in the room. They will instruct you to stand up and get in line at the end of the show.

They ask after assigning main roles if anyone wants any number of extra rolls - there are plenty! And kids can also get a picture with Belle even if they don't want a role. My daughter didn't want a role but she still got wonderful pictures with Belle that we easily added to our Memory Maker album.

We went a week before my daughter's third birthday (so probably same size as yours) and she was picked to play Beast! The only one who got to dance with Belle... It was a special memory. She definitely won't be left out.

I was planning on skipping this with my girls because of the wait but this sounds pretty awesome......

Just make sure she understands that she needs to participate in the 'try out'. DS was 3.5 and assigned to Maurice (Belle's dad). He had a CM helping him, and had a blast!

They will ask the kids to line up together on one side of the room (talking wardrobe is there), and the parents mostly stand on the other side of the room. So make sure she is comfortable going over with the kids, encourage her to stand in the front, and then if she isn't picked initially, to raise her hand at the end when 'extra parts' are given out...to all kids that want to join in.

If anyone is on the fence about the show/experience. It is adorable. A must do for us every trip, and we have 2 boys.

yes everyone who wants to take a part will receive one like others have said may not be but a minor role but still will be included

my DD5 last year got to be the beast on our 5th trip to ETWB - it seemed that the person with the loudest roar got to be the beast - DD5 got braver as the trip went on! The highest jumper also got to be Chip etc

One time the beast was little over 3 years old and was great so I don't think age or gender is a barrier at all.

My older ds did this last year. He had so much fun. He got to play chip...it was very cute. Going to do this again this year I think my younger son will enjoy watching it. He's only 20 months so too young to perform but he'll live the talk wardrobe.

It is definitely worth it. My wife and I have done it several times WITHOUT kids! :)

The workshop is cool.

The mirror in the workshop that magically turns into a doorway is amazing. Excellent Imagineering that appears truly magical.

The pre-show with the wardrobe that uses the new animatronics The wardrobe talks with the group and her face moves using a flexible material and no "joints". It makes it look like a real cartoon come to life.

When you go into the next room where Belle will come in, Lumiere is on the mantel moving and talking. Very well done. All in all a wonderful experience.

The story with Belle is cute to watch as all the kids act it out.

They move people through pretty quick because it is hard to spot, but there can be two completely different rooms going at the same time. They also keep you moving quickly at the end during picture taking because of the line.

My DD was 2.5 on our trip in September and she was picked to play Chip! They just asked something about jumping and so she started jumping and they walked over and handed her the cardboard cut out! I'm sure your little one will have no problem.

How about a 35 year old? Can I get a role?
My DH is 32 and he was picked to play a knight, so you should be good to go!

My son also got picked to play the Beast. It was our first time seeing ETWB and so the fact that all of us (except me) got picked to play a part was really special for this Disney Mommy! :goodvibes It's a fantastic show!

How long does the entire show/attraction take? If we go there right at 9:00 RD, what time should we expect to exit? Sounds like a great attraction...can't wait for our DD to participate!

Is this something we should try to use FP+ on, or will we miss an interesting queue if we do that?

Yes my 2 yo daughter was chosen for a role and she enjoyed it. At the end of the normal selection of roles they have a bunch of "extras" to anyone that wants a role that didn't get one.

My little one was 2 during our trip this past December, and she was a a salt shaker. They make sure to include everyone :]
