Can anyone stay and get their pictures made with Belle after the show or is it just those chosen to participate?

It depends on the CM. The only way to guarantee a photo is to participate in the show. Also, they would not allow the whole family to be in the photo. DD and DH were both in the show, and they had to get separate photos. In DH's case, it was him, Belle and the other guy that was a suit of armor. We just cropped him out.

It is just the ones who participate in the show. But even then, the picture is quick and moves you on. That's the one downfall in my opinion. There isn't an opportunity to "meet" with Belle anymore, unless you go to Epcot.

That stinks. My brother is at MK now and has his daughter's college roommate who has never been to WDW and this may be her only day there (younger daughter's band trip to Universal and they took the day to go to MK!) The roommate wants to meet Belle- but she wasn't in the castle for lunch or the princess meet and greet at Town Hall. I'm guessing she doesn't appear at any of those now.... ever? ugh! I think they decided to skip the ETWB and not waste time waiting for it- riding other stuff. One day makes it tough- but I wish she'd gotten to meet her. They didn't think their chances of being picked for the show were good since they're 20....... oh well.
They are having a wonderful day though- they've done LOTS - all the main stuff already

When we watched it the other day, a lady joined in the parade walking around the library so she could get her picture taken. After that little march, Belle took a minutes with each person in the show to take the picture. So if she doesn't get picked, just have her march in the "parade".

They don't have to be picked to be in the show. They choose some of the guests for parts, but then they ask if anyone else wants to be in the show. There are lots of "extras" in the cast. I've never heard of anyone being denied a part in the show.

We just did ETwB and everyone that wanted a part was allowed to be in the play. Most will be "extras" which means they only march around with Belle and then get a picture taken at the end. But even adults can be in the play. Make sure you take a pic with your own camera though. We had 4 members of our family get parts and only 2 of the pictures ended up on the photopass. Not sure what happened to the other 2, but we did take our own pics so I wasn't too upset about it.
