HELP LADIES!!!!!!

Does anyone have the name of the site that makes boxes to transport your dress on planes??? I know several of you have used these people but i cant remember the sites name:rolleyes:. All i remember is they make the boxes especially for dresses & size them so they correctly fit in overhead lockers

Any help would greatly be appreciated :goodvibes

You re a diamond :thumbsup2 , thats the exact one.
For anyone thats used them, did you find that the boxes fitted your dress in well? My dress is pretty big, the skirt part has a lot of layers to it so am hoping that the large box will fit. I ve mailed the bridal shop where i ve brought my dress from with the measuremenst so am hoping they ll have a better idea than i have

be careful though as i heard from a friend that the boxes didnt fit in the overhead lockers on virgin planes. this put me off and i had my dress shop put the dress in a cabin sized suitcase and it was fine and i had no problems on the plane both ways

So you had no problems with carrying the suitcase on as hand luggage? Did your suitcase fit in the overhead storage on Virgin? Did your dress fully fit in it too?
Do you happen to know what class they flew as well? was nt sure if the amount of overhead storage you get depends on the class you fly
(sorry for the mass of q's ;) )

it was a small suitcase which was cabin bag sized and i had no problems carrying this onboard.

The over head lockers are the same size no matter if your economy or upper class you just get more allowance on upper class.

my luggage is tripp by debenhams and we have three of them a large, medium and the small one and the dress fitted with no problems in the small one.

I think the sizes are around 50cm x 20 cm of the case i took at a guess.

I usually fly premium economy and didnt have problem taking a roll on case, laptop bag and rucksack. (Was coming back from Uni)

They didnt mind at all. My parents fly upper class and i think they can have even more than that!!

Thankyou so much for the advice, must admit i ve been a little worried about my dress fitting in a box. In all honesty i would prefer a case as its just so much better protected even if its not gonna leave my side. Will have to go into Debenhams whilst they ve got a sale on to check the cases out, i know the Trip range as thats the range my travel on bags from.

Sorry one more q;) , i cant remember how big the skirt to your dress is. How would you describe it just so i can get an idea if my dress is likely to fit, the skirt to my dress is very layered & floaty. If you had a hoop skirt did you manage to also fit this in to your suitcase too?
Thanks for being so helpful :goodvibes

my dress filled the small cabin bag so no hoop in that!!

My hoop went in the med sized one alongf with all the holiday stuff.

I didnt think my dress would fit in either as the case is tiny, i would say its a bit longer than a sky box if you have one of them so its tiny. the dress shop really did a good job getting it in there and then i just got it back in there for the journey home

I bought the largest storage box from the Empty Box company for my dress.

The quality of the box I have is great, and the dress fits in without having to squash it. If you are looking to keep your dress I can highly recommend them.

I'm going to go with a case rather than one of the travel boxes purely from a cost point of view. I checked the weight of the largest cabin-sized box and it is 2.9kg, so not sure if that would affect you with baggage allowances. The weight of my dress and box combined is over 7kg.

My bridal shop said they could pack my dress in a cabin-sized case no problem - I've got a Maggie Sottero Capri Royale that has a big skirt and train.

mine was a maggie sottero as well.

one point my hand luggage was not weighed on any of our flights this year and i'm sure if your are in economy its 6kg hand luggage, if you tell them its a wedding dress and it weighs a bit more as long as you dont have much else as hand luggage i'm sure they will be fine.

Mine was over the 6kg but i didnt have anything else so they were fine

My dress had a big suitcase all to itself and was put in the planes hold. This did stress me out but it was to big to do anything else and it got there fine. My hoop went in another case with the bridesmaids stuff and the suits.

The cabin size tripp cases at debenhams are now only £20 in the sale, I just bought a bright pink one to put my dress in!

Orangetiggs, did you put your dress in a bag or anything before it went in the case?
