I've been using one for pennies and one for quarters so we will be ready to find those penny presses. Remember to have newer pennies they come out nicer.:earsgirl: :earsboy:

We use those film canisters to soak an oboe reed.

I have changed over to mini m&m containers, they hold more. I stack 2 quarters and penney alternating. they don't always stay in order but you still have exact change.

We use the lids from the canisters along with a snippet of straw and rubber band to make mini canteens. I'm a Girl Scout leader. Just glue the straw to one lid. Then glue the rubber band in a little loop. Then top with the other lid. Too cute!

I use the mini m&m containers for smooshed penny change. Each girl gets a tube and when it's gone, it's gone.

So is it just pennies and quarters you need for those machines?? How many for each machine?

we are there for a week before Disney and I want to make sure I save some US change for them.

for the penny presses you need 2 quarters and the 1 penny to be pressed. There are also select quarter presses but I am not sure what the cost is besides the quarter to be squished.

The quarter presses are usually $1.25 total (1 quarter to press and 4 quarters for payment).

HTH,

Dan.

Am I the only one who remembers back in the '70s and that these 35mm film canisters were used to store Marijuana seeds or stashes by my Pot-smoking friends? Hmmm, never look at those containers the same again; they always seem a little illicit to me.

Actually you should use older pennies to avoid the smear that the zinc causes. For some great tips on pressed pennies click Penny FAQs or click All Ears Net

Another use for empty Fugi film cannisters is to make "rockets" for younger kids. Decorate with construction paper. In the container pour a little water and add a Alka Seltzer (generic works fine), immediately put the lid on and turn up-side-down and wait for it to shoot off. Do this outside away from buildings since the "rocket" can fly over 20 feet. Be sure to keep the Alka Seltzer (rocket fuel) away from the children.

I've been collecting the older pennies and shining them up with Taco Bell hot sauce. It seems that 10-15 minutes of soaking is all they need to get their luster back!

I used to use the canisters to hold pre-measured formula for when my son was baby.
