Emotional...

Glad to hear Im not the only one that feels this way too. I am crying as I read this thread (what a sap!). I havent been to Disney since I was four, my kids and husband have never been. I am just so looking forward to just enjoying my children. Not reminding them to clean up their rooms, worrying about getting homework done etc.. But honestly, I still think there is a big part of me that still believes in all the magic myself, and I cant wait to share that with my daughter. All I can say is bring the Waterproff mascara is at the top of my list:thumbsup2

Trixie you arent the only one. I put this on another chat room her on DIS but will tell you my story. I have 2 daughters...they were 5 and 3 at the time and we were coming across the boat and when they saw the castle fast approaching they were jumping up and down hugging each other as my hubby was video taping it all. they were yelling "Cinderella is real!!!" [of course she is]. As they were doing this other people were smiling and tearing up just watching them so excited and I swear i needed a valium to stop crying...lol. Then when we got off the boat and went through the gates we were putting on sunscreen and we heard a voice thats said "princesses always wear sunscreen" we turned ariound and there was the CM from the boat [who must have heard my daughters excitement] and Cinderella...my girls almost fainted ....she bent down to talk to them and asked us where we were from we told her Canada...she said that it was perfect timing for us to come down to Florida to visit her...then she said to my daughters "I heard you were coming so I wanted to greet you...have a fantastic day"....ok now im crying after writing that...LOL.....they are only little once and we go back to WDW in May....I need to get my prescription refilled for valium[kidding]....
:wizard:

OMG-your story really touched me and made my eyes tear up.I can actually see my daughters doing the same thing. What a beautiful story:sad1: :)

Emotional 40-year-old Dads for the win!

I am tearing up just reading these stories. I tear up watching the planning DVD. This morning my daughter asked me if she was just dreaming that we are going to WDW for her birthday I almost burst into tears! I hugged her tight and choked out "No sweetheart! It's not a dream! We're going!"

Omigosh I'm tearing up just reading these...the stories are so sweet, and at the same time I'm imagining DD9 and DD5 on our first trip next month. (next MONTH? I can't actually say "I'm going to Disneyworld next month! Sorry...back to the original thought here...) DD9 still believes in magic, and DD5 is convinced she's a princess too, I can't wait until they see the castle and the princesses for the first time...it's a surprise trip so I can only imagine how excited they will be!

And I'm getting teary eyed again just thinkin about it!:goodvibes

Same here...I remeber the very first time we took our oldest to WDW. She was 20 months old and I was 5 months pregnant with my second (I'm generally sappy, so forget it when I'm pregnant!)

Anyhow, I remember telling my husband (and all my firends when I got back!), "You think Disney is cool, when you go as a kid, but it's even so much cooler as a parent, when you get to watch your own kiddos enjoying it!!" They'll love it -- and so will you!

Enjoy! :cloud9:

My husband and I CRIED when we watched Wishes for the first time. We went to see Fantasmic 3 times we loved it so much, and everything else just blew our minds. He is 33 and I am 27. I cannot even imagine what it will do with our 3 year old when he sees all that stuff.

I got emotional riding the steam train around the magic kingdom.

My husband and I get choked up listening to the Disney Music cd we have and remembering our trip there.

We are totally sarcastic cynical people. He thought the whole idea of going to Disney World as adults was stupid but it was the BEST trip either one of us ever took. We talk about it constantly.

I know we both will probably bawl when our little guy sees it all for the first time.
We will definitely be filming it. We have a lot of stuff on video from our own trip (parades, fantasmic, etc.) and we watch it often. We also made a slideshow out of our pictures with the Wishes song in the background.

Count me in with the crazy emotional about Disney World people!

I too cry just thinking about our 1st family trip last year. I cried like a baby when I stepped onto main street USA and saw the castle for the first time with my dh, ds's, mom, brother, and SIL. Disney vacations are very magical and heart warming. I want to add that to me it is also about the time spent with family, not just being at WDW(although I don't really want to go anywhere elso on our next vacation!). :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I was telling my dh about it, thinking he would laugh at me, but he admitted that he gets choked up thinking about it, too. It's such a special thing we can do for our family and I'm so glad to be able to do it this year!

I also think a large part of it is just the time together - it wouldn't matter where we're going, really, but there is just something magical about WDW! I still remember vividly a lot of the details about the few times I've been. I can't wait to go!

Your stories got me all choked up as well, lol. I am afraid I'll be a blubbering idiot when my dd's catch their first glimpse of Cinderella!

My dh has been dreaming about the girls and having lunch at CRT. I'm so glad he is just as excited as I am!

Keep sharing your stories, ya'll! I love to hear them!

That describes my DGF and I to a tee. It's crazy, but we just can't stop going to WDW!

BTW, I love your username, cornflkgrl. Tori is a goddess!

I cried when I walked into WDW with my DS and also when I told him we were going...I"m such a sap!
