I was just coming here to reply to your completed Yachtsman review, so the cupcake update is a nice bonus! Glad you really enjoyed your Starring Rolls treat. And it's great that you enjoyed your Yachtsman experience overall, from (most of) the food to the service. I'm not even a big steak lover, but all this amazing filet commentary has me craving it again.

The red velvet was (I think), the only cupcake we tried last year and we found it amazing.Even though I want to try some more, I definitely want to repeat the red velvet cupcake!
We've bought some goat cheese marinated in olive oil with herbs in a similar pot as the one on the Yatchman plate and it was really good. However, the cheese was formed in little balls and had no rind.
Red velvet is my favorite cupcake. I ate the whole thing and didn't think I would! I can't wait to ave one of those again!
Brenda,
It was so funny how your husband remembered us. KAMPBut when I told my DH he said that's how he would remember it also. The way the minds of men work sometimes is crazy, but hey, if it works go for it!!!

. Glad you had a great YSH meal. I could hear the choir singing as I was reading it. It only stopped momentarily for the "goo" and the marrow. Small intermissions though.
Can't wait to read more.
I remember you saying you shopped there problem is- I live in the middle of the Cornfield. Seriously the hospital I work at is LITERALLY surrounded by cornfields on all sides. When I look out the window in our office I see cornfields Closest Target is an hour away.I LOVE Ross, shopped there all the time when I lived near one. There is an outlet mall semi-close, but I haven't made it out there quite yet.
Casseroles are totally different! If the food is cooked together or a Salad, that is fine!
Those cupcakes look AMAZING! I cannot wait to try one! I know my girls will love that place too!![]()
Brenda, you have me offiically drooling over your filet and I know what I'm ordering in December. I want one now it looks so good.
We've done only one signature restaurant in all of our visits to DW and that was Brown Derby which we totally disliked in all regards; but I really think Mark will like this special lunch at Yachtsman for his 60th.
Cant wait to try YSH for the first time in Dec![]()
Aww, it's one of my favorite names too!!! I love Lucille Ball so of course I had to use Lucy! Confession, because in my signature it looks like it could be either way, it's actually my dear doggys name, she came before my DD (Ava Elizabeth, my sweet baby) so she got the name first
Love the rest of Yatchmans! The filet looks so good, I'm having a really hard time choosing YSH or LeCelliers filet, I may have to just squeeze in both! And I agree about the bone marrow
Starring rolls!! I cannot wait for that Red Velvet cupcake!
Yay...you got the filet and mashed potatoes! So glad that you enjoyed them. I believe that brings your point total to 20. But I've been a little preoccupied lately with other lists and such, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

So funny.. you had a very gentle way of telling me to pay more attention!!! Otherwise your user name would be Lucysmommy!!I'm a dope sometimes! And Ava is a beautiful name! I think I have seen every I Love Lucy 10 times. It is my go to show on TV which annoys Michael since he says I watch on an HD TV regular def. all the TV Land shows Yeah, so??
As for the steak dilemma, I like both but YSH is definitely a more Signature experience while LC is wonderful (one of my favorite filets) but more crowded and not so intimate of a setting. Just different. However, it's still a hard choice if you pit the breads against each other - LC pretzel bread vs YSH onion rolls. I would choose the pretzel bread!!With all that said.. I'm no help.
Give Ava a hug and Lucy a bone! Did I get it right that time?![]()
You are totally like me, Brenda. When I order a steak, it has to be 8oz. or smaller otherwise it won't fit! I think the happy anniversary plate was a great touch! Emmy's sundae looks fabulous.
Oh my - this steak lover is drooling over all of your selections!! It would be tough to make Eilee go anywhere other than LC though...although there is nothing stopping us from doing both!![]()
I had every intention of getting that same cupcake from Starting Rolls and then we never got around to it.But I'm glad that you were able to test it out and give it the thumbs up! Only one year from now...I'm going to run the 10 miler and then promptly shove that cupcake into my mouth!
Awww yes, you did get it right! How sweet, they would both appreciate it
Ya know I didn't even think of my user name! Haha, what does that say about me?
I watch TV land all the time too! Lucy and Roseanne reruns!
You did help me.....decide that I need to find a way to eat both filets and breads during our trip!
My family, we actually own a deli, pizzeria, bakery here in our town. My step father is master baker trained and he makes some amazing stuff, including.....pretzel rolls!! These are not like a mall pretzel but an old German family recipe that people just flip over. Everyone loves them and seeing how much everyone loves the pretzel bread at LeCellier, I'm sure you would all our love pretzel rolls! I wish I could send some to all the Disers! I've actually never had the bread from LeCellier, I'm so looking forward to it!*
I am so happy your meal and server at YM was so fantastic! We love that place so much and I am right there with you that filet is out of this world good. I will have to remember Ricardo for future trips.
Loving your reviews so far! Subbing so I don't miss anything....we are eating at many of the same places during our December trip so I'll be anxiously following your report!
Great pics! Thanks. Makes me want to be there right now
Nothing in your review screamed at me that I need to have it!! And for that I am EXTREMELY grateful as I ditched this ADR first for Hollywood Brown Derby and then I made it again for another day and ditched it for Chefs de France!!
Sounds like your salad and dessert was good as well as Em's pot roast. Has she tried the Pot Roast at Liberty Tree Tavern? Just wondering on how they compare?!?!
Sorry the antics were not there this meal. I've heard both good and bad about them but mostly that there is less of them nowadays.
Neither Jay or Andrew 'loves' 50s so we didn't go in August. I then had an ADR for Andrew and I in November and he asked me to change it to Sci Fi. I will get back there some day. I love the pot roast! Your salad looked really good. A nice change from all the rich meals Disney offers!
I am curious; did the straw have an ADR? and if so could you apply the TIW discount to their beverage![]()
That's a shame you didn't get more antics at 50's! But it seems to be hit or miss.
I know what you mean about the food baby... it can definitely squash further gluttony rather quickly!
I love the hidden mickey with your dessert set up! I always enjoy the pot roast there, but this last trip decided to skip it for something new. Too bad your sever wasn't into the antics, that is part of the charm.
Eilee loves pot roast too - perhaps we'll need to back here. Our first trip to 50s PT was the dreadful visit when my sister and I both took our kids. The server was great but when my niece "tattled" on Eilee because she didn't finish her veggies, everyone in the room yelled "tattletale" at my niece and she got angry and was a pill for the rest of the day!We haven't been back since. I helped to plan my supervisor's first visit to WDW with her DH (I realized one week out that she had the dining plan and didn't have one ADR!!!
So I made all of her ADRs and this is one of the places that I sent her to, and I'm hoping they got some of the antics that I'd told her about. Too bad you didn't get any for Michael's first visit.

I love your random straw.it looks better than the sausage!
Yay for Roseanne reruns! I actually have the first 7 seasons on DVD and I'm not ashamed!
How fun would that be if you ever got the chance to visit our little place!! I love that idea!:
Too bad about 50's, I've never actually ate there and was debating whether to change our Sci Fi plan to there. I know when you are excited to bring someone somewhere for the 1st time you want it to be fun and delicious and it's definitely disappointing if it misses the mark! Love the straw pic though!
Andat food baby! I just realized our wedding is 6 days into our trip.......I'm never going to fit into my dress by then! I better have it sized forgivingly!
