Just caught the tail end of this on tv tonight. I think the area was called Riviera Beach. It seems the town is displacing homeowners so a yacht club and condos could be built on the beach. Some of the people had been there 30 years. I really didnt get the mayor though, he said that the area was 70% african american (as he was) and that they were entitled to move up and get job training and that others would have to sacrifice for the good of all the people and that the homeowners were being selfish. What i didnt get was that 1/2 of the people interviewed were african american and it certainley wouldnt help anyone to get kicked out of their homes so they could build a yacht club. The mayor seemed very cocky, I feel bad for the citizens there, they should vote him out next election.
