Can someone please explain this (EHM) to me! I don't think I understand the whole wristband thing.........it does't take much to confuse me We are going in August, will this be available? (or only time of the year when the parks close early) Sorry for the trouble, but in the imortal words of Vinny Barbarino "I'm So Confused"!!!!!!! Thanks in advance!

I am by no means the expert, but here's what I know. E-ticket night no longer exists. Extra Magic Hours (EMH) were introduced recently, we think, to replace them, and to respond to a program that US has for its on-site guests (front of the line -FOTL). So far, it seems that each of the four parks opens early one day a week and stays open late one evening a week. There is a schedule posted on this site for the EMH through April. You must be a WDW resort guest (I think maybe the Hilton in the Village is also included) to participate. To get in for the AM EMH, you show your resort ID, but for the evening EMH, you have to obtain a wrist band by showing your ID at designated locations within the park. Unlike E-ticket nights, there is no addition charge for EMH.

Please, friends, feel free to correct or add any information. I repeat, I am by no means the expert.

Great job explaining it countingmama. The only thing I would add is that the park that is scheduled for Extra Magic hours opens one hour before park opening to non-Disney resort guests for the morning EMH or three hours later than park closing to non-Disney resort guests for the evening EMH.

Also, be advised that not all attractions are open for EMH. More attractions are open for evening than morning EMH.

To add, you are able to receive your wristbands up to two hours before EMH hours start at the park that is open late that evening. Those staying off site will not be "kicked out" of the park, but will be unable to ride any rides. BTW- Can't go to one park during the day and then hop over to the park that's having EMH in the evening unless you have the hopper option on your tixs.

We loved the EMH evening hours. Park really start to clear out about a hour after they start since many of the off site guests leave.

We did the extra evening hours at Epcot on February 8th. We entered through the International Gateway as we had walked over from MGM. We asked where to get the wristbands & were told between Canada & Mexico. We wondered why there wasn't a location closer to the International Gateway. To get the wristband, we had to show our resort ID's. It was very easy & quick.

Things we noticed:

San Angel Inn was not taking any walk-ups. They said they were all booked up. I didn't think that's how PS's worked. ??? We also noticed the Cantina & the Electric Umbrella closed 1.5 hours into the three extra hours.

Also, when we rode The Maelstrom, they didn't show the movie at the end. We just walked through the theater.

Now, all this information may have been public beforehand, but we didn't see it. On the other hand, we had fun staying after hours. When we did Figment, we were the only ones in the building.

Hey, we were the only ones in the building with Figment too during EMH. Also Pirates of the Carib, we were the only and last ones to ride that night. It's pretty cool isn't it?

There is no charge for the EMH. It is a "perk" for staying on site.
The old E-nights were something like $12.00 a person, but they old sold a certain amount of tickets (and it was only for the MK).

I think the poster meant to say for Disney resort guests. Non Disney resort guests don't get to take advantage of this.

Thanks for the info everyone - but one last clarification -
To do EMH evenings at a park, can you pick up your pass ANYTIME, up until 2 hours before closing, or ONLY 2 hours before closing? I ask because there are days during our trip (only 16 days away!! ) that we plan on being in another park during the day, and considering another in the evening for EMH - so can we swing by the other park anytime, or can we only go 2 hours before they close to get our wristbands?

Yes, that's correct. I was just correcting the part that said if was for non resort guests. S/D, LBVH and SOG are considered resort guests for this.

You can get your bracelets anytime from two hours before until the close of the extra hours.

How are the crowds compared to the old E-nights? People that have been, were you able to walk on, or was it still pretty crowded?

And like E-Nights, I assume not all rides are open? TIA!
