EMH vs. old E-Ride Nights

We were there when they ran the trail EMH last May and it was great. Crowds didn't seem any worse than a regular E-Night. As for whether they intend to keep the EMH this summer...they are mentioned in the newest DVD for WDW so I would assume they are a 'keeper'! One of the best things about the new EMH are the fact that they are also held at the other parks, not just the MK.
Can't wait till June to check them all out!

I did the EMH nights at MK this past February.. I did 2 of them during my trip. I found both to be GREAT!!! The waits were minimal... if at all... and I had a blast! I like the EMH better than the E ride nights... there is much more open for EMH than there was for E nights.. I found the crowds to be equal to.. or even less than the E Nights... the weather was beautiful when I was there.. typical Feb weather.. a bit chilly.. but no rain at all.. so.. for a rain free night evaluation.. No crowds! I however, did not find the EMH at MGM to be beneficial at all... it just didn't seem to work there for me... I think it might have been me though.. I tried 2x to attend the EMH at MGM.. but I just wasn't into it.. I think I was too tired... I would definitely give MGM another try.. and there was no Epcot or AK Evening EMH during my trip.... so.. i can't give my opinion on that. As far as Morning EMH... in my tried and tested experience.. there is nothing like EMH at MK to do Fantasy land... you can ride everything in fantasyland over and over ... and they have opened many more attractions for EMH mornings as well.. such as the Indy speedwya... I actually rode that this trip becuase there was such a short wait... So.. give it a try!!!

Just plan accordingly.. take a nap... and if you can.. park hop... I found that alot of guests were there ALL day and then couldn't pull off the Evening EMH cause they were just too exhausted.. but if you can hop.. stay away from that park All day.. too crowded.. and then come right before wishes.. and stay for EMH...

Any questions.. just ask!

ETA: You can pick up wristbands either right inside the front gates, or other stations in the parks. There will be signs marking out directions or you could ask a CM.

Oh, and you can get a wristband after the park closes. You just show your room key whenever you walk up to the turnstiles.

I hope this helps!

It helps tons! Thanks! Didn't know you could get in after the park closes...all other sources were saying you have to be in the park before it closes. That makes it SO much easier!

Thanks to all for the replies. Sounds like evening EMHs work out pretty well.

A little off topic, but we went and it rained steady for 6 of the 7 days we were there! Never again in Septemeber!

So sorry to hear that. I'd like to get a hold on the person who wrote about it NEVER raining a full day in Florida. From the posts I've read it seems it happens pretty often. :confused3

When we went it wasn't pouring so we could still enjoy the day but it did rain all day. 2 years before we went in Nov and not one drop of rain fell all week. Also, before this trip we were on the cruise in Jan and it was perfect - just a bit cool on deck.

Better luck next time I guess!

Oh my! it definitely does rain all day in Florida. Especially if we get a tropcial depression sitting over the state. One June a couple of years ago for about 2 weeks it rained every day and not just afternoon showers. It rained about 4 or 5 days continually. You would go to bed in the rain and wake up to rain. So yes it does happen.

The EMH nights are going to be around in the summer months. Last year they were just trying them out in the Sping and brought back the E-night until they worked out the logistics.

We were there over President's week break and on Wednesday the EMH started at midnight and went until 3AM. We found it crowded for the first hour and then things thinned out dramatically. I plan on doing both nights at MK during our summer visit. I like that there is more available over the old E-ticket nights and that I don't have to budget it in.

The only thing I find difficult with the new EMH is that there doesn't seem to be a real set pattern so far of which parks are EMH for which days and nights, making it hard to plan PSs .
