EMH Strategy? Ratings?

If AK opens one hour early, is it crowded for the whole day or just in the morning?

Also, If we go to parks that have EMH and the crowd level is rated a 4-6, what does the other parks rate?


I took a stab when I made my plans and we wanted no EMH's because we wouldnt be using them anyways with a 2yr old but it ended up with all but one day in a park that has EMH. DH said not to go ans switch all res. because there is going to be lines no matter what and we are not going on a day when its a "10 crowd day"

we go off season and don't really notice a lot of difference in the emh park, maybe a little more crowded but not big deal .in 04 the only things open for morning emh were ttbab and safari,,,we went to safari first, ttbab second and still had time to walk around discovery island till the rest opened. so yeah i guess it was worth it..the animals were the most active early am also. however we also went to ak emh on marathon day( Jan).... oy vey never again

imo even in value season it's best to get there as early as possible..if you can get to emh I would. never been in mid oct( guessing that is when you are going) but even in Jan the big attractions are maybe 15 min wait with fp by mid afternoon ( that is when they eventually will open fp) vs walk on first thing in the morning. we always go early and get the major things done first off then don't have to worry unless we want to redo something...that way we minimize waits which are never fun for big or little kids.

also just a warning don't try to do mk on a weekend afternoon it's terrible( early morning it was ok but wall to wall in the afternoon) while the rest of the park was busier but passable

If it's at all possible, I'd hit the EMH for AK. The animals on the safari are much more active first thing. It did seem to get busy, so we left at lunch. But it was worth it for the safari. As for the other parks, we've always avoided those with EMH, so I can't help.
