Okay experts, please chime in here - if we arrive at EMH morning opening at DHS, can we go straight to TSMM first to get a ride in there and then go over for Jedi? If we did it in that order, would we still have a shot at morning times for Jedi? Also, how bad would TOT be if we do TSMM, Jedi sign-up, then try for TOT next? Insight appreciated...

Jedi Training sign-up first.
It doesn't matter if Uncle Billy once got to sign up after riding XYZ on St. Swithun's's Day, in 2013.

Don't take a chance on YOUR day. ;)

If you do TSMM first jedi will likely be full for the day.

ETA My daughter was too young last summer (fist week of Jine) so her and my wife went to TSMM while my son and I went to sign him up for JTA. We were at rooe drop, and were just past the ticket counters in line, maybe 10 to 15 people back. By the time they were done with TSMM and came to meet us, they were telling people arriving they were going to be full. I had only choices for 130 or later too. Dont risk ot, TSMM will be there to ride all day, JTA once full that is it.

I strongly recommend going to sign up first thing. Remember all kids who wish to participate must be present with you. You can request any time you like. We like to build a plan and do the actual show right after lunch. Just remember they do require you to show up 20 minutes before your start time.

After signup I would do ToT(assuming you do not care about Rock 'N' Rollercoaster). Then use a FP+ for TSM right before lunch. On your how bad is ToT question? Depends on many factors. To me it is one level above Everest and one below Rock 'N' Rollercoaster on the intense scale. Give it a try.

Thanks everyone for the insight. With doing Jedi sign-up first, what kind of line do you think we would be facing at TSMM if we go right there afterward, still during EMH?

Thanks, this made me chuckle as I actually meant how bad the TOT line might be at that point. I've done the ride on prior trips, though it will be my kids first time. :)

Figure you'll be there (you must have the kid(s) with you) between 5 and 20 minutes, depending on how fast you get there.
I'd want to arrive at DHS at least 20 minutes before the posted AM EMH opening time.

Maybe even a few minutes before that. We arrived 30 minutes early on a non-EMH morning and the ticket area was packed. (Park open time was 8am.) I would think for EMH, on site guest would have similar ideas.

For us on Saturday, we went to TOt first and it was 10 minute walk on. We were actually at the line before park open and they let us inside 2 minutes before the park opened.

RNR was closed this entire time due to issues. We left the area at a not 8:40 or so and TOT was still a short line. It seemed that the priority for early arrival folks was all things Star Wars.
:-)

The line did eventually get longer. But not for a while.

(Toy story standby "shrunk" to 45 minutes at 11am since everyone was lined up for watching the motorcade and stage show.)

*this was this past Saturday and the park opened at 8am. ( Just fixed my Tower of Terror timed as it was an hour off, I just realized.)
