EMH question Animal Kingdom

If the scheduled opening time for AK is 9AM for the day we attend I assume the EMH time starts at 8AM what time do the actually start letting resort guests into the park? Exactly at 8 or a little earlier....I guess what I am asking if I have tickets in hand what time should I plan on arriving to Animal Kingdom?...TIA

The time that they open the gate varies by just a couple minutes either way, but right around 8:00. Are you driving or using Disney transportation? I would say you should plan to be at the gate between 7:45 and 7:55. We always try to leave our resort by 7:15 when we do EMH. It seems to take longer to get to AK than anywhere else.

Last May we went to EMH at AK and then let us in the front gates at 7:45 and then held us across the bridge at the first intersection and they did a good morning/park opening show with the characters. They had a bus and Mickey and Minnie were on it and several other characters were there too. It was cute!

Whenever we do EMH at any theme park and use Disney's bus transportation, I always plan to be at the bus stop between 7 and 7:10 a.m. if EMH begins at 8:00 a.m.

We have had the same experience the last 2 times weve done EMH, last July & December.
We always get to the bus stop(Or try to) about 45 minutes before park opening time. This almost always gets us to the park 10-20 minutes before opening time and we have found theres not much need to get there any earlier.

How was it in December when you attended the EMH and how was the park later in the day particularly AK....crowd wise

We left the park midday, but we were able to get a lot done. This was a few days before Christmas and while there were plenty of people there(not mobbed though), we were able to get a lot accomplished. It was very manageable.
