EMH in DL, then over to DCA for opening?

Well, after getting very excited to finally subscribe to Touring Plans and start using the Lines app...I discovered they don't have a park hopping option, at least in the sense of going back and forth between parks, rather than one park for the first part of the day, and then the other for the second half.

So that being said...I know getting FP for Radiator Springs is pretty paramount early on. Our first day there is next Tuesday, and we'll be taking advantage of the EMH for DL.

Would it be a good idea to use that, ride Matterhorn and maybe a few other Fantasyland rides, and then head over to DCA for opening to get a fastpass?

Maybe I'm overthinking this...but I want it to be a great trip! :P

I don't necessarily see anything wrong with that plan...I think you probably will want to be in DCA within a few hours of opening to get the RSR FPs, but I don't think you have to be there right at DCA's rope drop.

We did the opposite last week. We went to CA for the Magic Morning and rode RSR, then headed over to DL and got there just a couple minutes before rope drop. It worked well for us.

Just to avoid confusion (in case there are others reading this thread who are less familiar with the early entry options for DLR)...onsite guests have access to Extra Magic Hours (EMH), which happens in both DCA and DL (on roughly alternating mornings). Guests with certain tickets (usually three-day or longer) have access to Magic Mornings (MM), which only happen in DL (but on the same morning that DL has EMH). The general schedule is:
  • DCA EMH: Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
  • DL EMH/MM: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
This schedule can change due to special events or other activities.

Thanks Figment, didn't mean to make it confusing. I am a DW veteran and still learning the system/lingo at the DL Resort.
