EMH appear to be completely different for 2016 as compared to 2015.

It changes based on resort occupancy, advanced ticket sales, etc. It's not like they just change EMH on a whim. But I will track this, since late EMH is just about the most important thing for us when deciding when to go. We're night owls to begin with, and I just love the parks at night.

I would go by Jan/Feb EMH since those are closer. We've had EMH change just weeks before our past trips. But this could be a way to cut costs to help pay for MM+. Maybe they envisioned phasing out EMH as a money saving advantage when deciding on MM+. However, as Disney changes they're strategy, so are we. One of our kids has a disability, but we had never used GAC until our most recent trip. We always got to the parks late (usually after 5pm) to avoid crowd and heat (which are hard on my kid), used old FP and the multiple EMH (to avoid long lines that my kid wouldn't handle) to do what we needed to do. But thats not possibly anymore. With the limited FP options and EMH being tweeted down, we have to use GAC so that we can arrive earlier and do more than a handful of rides. As it stands, we only averaged about 7-8 rides a day even using that.
I am curious how FP- was superior to FP+ in your situation. We always found that arriving later was really bad for the headliners as sometimes all FP were gone by late morning, cant imagine there was any shot that late, unless of course you went during very low crowd times.

Is the parks closed earlier though? We did a trip in dec 2014 where there was almost no EMH but the parks were open just as late as if there was one. The experience with crowds was amazing and park hours were just as late.

Since December is such a busy time, the parks are open later. MK closed around midnight every night when we went a few weeks ago. My concern is my Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend trips when the daytime heat is unbearable. MK used to have Saturday night EMH and would stay open until almost 2am... it was perfect. It looks like in the past year they have moved MK EMH to Wednesday nights. I think DHS is the only park with weekend evening hours now.
