For those who have seen AK at night, is it a "must see?" Do they have anything special? How are the rides? When we go in December, it will be dark during the evening EMH. However, we'd like to do MVMCP on Tuesday, but that is normally AK's evening EMH.

Tickets (and PS for dining) will go on sale soon for MVMCP. We've never seen AK at night--help us decide.

Thanks!

I'd like to know this too. I assume all the animal exhibits are well lit? AK is the hottest park during the day, so it would be nice to try it in the evening. :earsboy:

My first trip to AK included a night trip. It was the day several years ago when after a hurricane just skirted the coast and all of the parks were closed except AK (open only to onsite guests). I thought the paths around the park were not very well lit. I did't think it was that special after dark. MVMCP is definately the better bet. Also, in December, the heat should not be a problem in AK. It could be warm but nothing like summer.

We did the EMH on May '04. I still have the schedule. The Festival of the Lion King had two shows at 6:15pm and 7:15pm. We saw the show for the first time and it was great! My DH was on Kali River Rapids 3x's. He loved it. We also saw It's Tough to Be a Bug for a second time. I enjoyed it since I wasn't feeling well earlier in the day, left for the hotel to shower and rest and was able to return later in the day to see some of the park. :flower:

We did it in Feb. We actually arrived at the park just after 5pm, so the daytime goers were all leaving as we arrived. It was neat to be in AK at night. The Tree of Life was cool in the dark! We rode Triceratop Spin and Primeval Whirl, and there were no lines for those so that was nice. And then we let our boys play in the Boneyard for awhile and that was less crowded than during the day. :) I think it's a fun thing to do atleast once. But I wouldn't trade my choice of night for MVMCP to do it. In other words, if you feel a Tuesday MVMCP will be the best night for you, definitely do that and skip AK evening EMH...do it on the next trip. :)
