EMH and FASTPASS

During the EMH morning are the fast pass machines working at 8 or do they open up at 9? I was thinking of sending DH to get soaring fast pass as me and DD walk fast to TT and MS at 8 as soon as the rope drops. We could do these 2 as soon as DH meets us and then fill the time till about 9 when the fast passes kicks in. How does this sound?

This is exactly what we did. When the rope dropped DS, 3 grandparents and myself walked to TT while my DH quickly walked to Soarin and got fastpasses. As soon as he got the fastpasses he met us at TT. By then there was only a 5 minute wait. We rode TT and waslked over to Journey Into Your Imagination and rode. We went to see Honey I shrunk the Audience and about 5 minutes after we were seated they told us they were havind tech difficulties. We then went and rode Soarin. It was the best thing Disney has to offer!

With Soarin open we found that the lines for TT take even longer to build now. We did EMH last Monday and we were able to grab Fastpasses for Soarin, which allowed us to ride two times in a row by 9:15 (waited in standby the first time). We grabbed Fastpasses for TT, then did M:S (10 minute wait) and went back to TT (5 minutes in Fastpass line). We were done with all three by about 10:30 or so.

Do the fastpasses continue to run into the EMH time or do they shutdown and then restart? In other words, if EMH is 9 to 12, do the fastpass machines run past 9:00 earlier in the day?

When we were there a week ago, the fastpass machines would shut down and restart. At Epcot there was a line at 8:45 for the fastpass machines to reopen. We did not like evening EMH at Epcot. We felt it was way too crowded. I think we are just spoiled by the E nights we use to enjoy.

We were told at AK that Fastpass machines would only re-open during evening EMH depending on the crowds (ie, if they were big enough, they would start managing the line by using Fastpasses).
