Leaving in am. I'm having a heck of a time trying to find the numbers for the Magic for family to contact us in the event of an emergency. I've scoured all the cruise documents and can't find anything. Does any one know this info or where I can find it? Thanks

From DCL website:

Friends and family can contact you aboard the Disney Magic® or the Disney Wonder® by calling (888) 322-8732†.

better tell them to ONLY use it in the case of a real emergency. It's about $7 a minute and they will be required to put in a cc number BEFORE the call is connected!

Yes, this is true. And, if you live in Canada(maybe abroad also?) they don't work...We had some family members worried the first time..

You all are wonderful!! I really do not know how I would have ever planned my Disney trips the last few years without you! I scoured the cruise documents, all the Disney cruise pamphlets, magazine, etc. I scoured the Disney cruise site, I called reservations and kept being put on hold for eternal amounts of time before I gave up. I knew you all would come through. Thank you , Thank you!

We're off early in the am for a couple of days at Disney and then a week on the Magic. So good night and thanks again for all your help.

I know it states that calls from the ship to land are $7/ minute. It does not say anything about that where is lists the toll free number. Is there definitely the same $7/ minute charge? Has anyone had to receive calls and been billed for the call from home?

In the "My Cruise Travel Kit" I received from DCL prior to my sailing, on page 28, it states this:

SHIP PHONE NUMBER

While onboard the Disney Magic, all guests can be contacted by calling 1-888-DC-AT-SEA (322-8732). Calls will be immediately transferred to your stateroom. Messages can be recorded via voice mail. Keep in mind that hefty ship-to-shore (satellite) telephone rates apply. Please check prices listed on your stateroom telephone for details. Toll-free (1-800, 1-888) calls cannot be placed from the ship. Satellite telephone rates can be significantly higher than traditional long distance.
(italicized words were italicized by DCL themselves, not added by me)

So, one way or another, someone is paying if someone calls you on the ship. Either the caller or the callee.

I know all that. Have read the same thing over the years. It only mentions ship to shore calls. I assume as you do that the charges are the same and the stateroom that receives the calls is billed. Just wanted to see if anyone had ever received a call and they were billed the $6.95 / minute.

Ah, I see. I think "ship to shore" is used interchangably for "shore to ship." ;)

Wouldn't that be a scam though...if there was no charge for incomming calls? Call home, tell them to call you back....bang...free call!
