While on our Disney Alaska. Cruise we were woken up around 2 am with a man with a panic voice saying "service team report to room 6xxx" three time around 2 am.

We were wondering if anyone knew what this code meant and if there are other emergency codes y'all know about?

Are you sure it was service teams?
I know what "assessment teams" is but have no clue about service teams...

I'm pretty sure but it was 2 am lol! What does assessment team mean?

It's to assess a situation...usually fire or flooding/damage. But if you didn't get any another announcements after that there either wasn't one or it was small enough for that team to put out/fix...

There used to be 4 main emergency 'codes' and then they added in assessment teams a couple of years ago.

It was just strange that it came on in the stateroom since no other announcements have. We were thinking fire or heart attack.

Those have different codes.

Sometimes - rarely, but it happens - they have to put crew in cabins in the guest area. Also, when there is a major thing happening, it's easier to broadcast it everywhere than flip certain switches, etc. or make calls.

That's just the way it is. For any emergency announcement. But guests (and the majority of crew) don't need to take any notice for the most part. They'll let you know and keep repeating of you do.
It goes into every room on the ship because the crew that are a part of those teams can be anywhere. A lot of them are housekeepers too so there is a chance they can be in a guest cabin.
It's also not unusual for a cm to be in guest stateroom. As a returning cm I've been in cabins in deck 1 and 5 for a cruise or two because there's not enough crew cabins. I've had friend who've been flooded out of their cabins and got put in guest staterooms for a couple of nights...

And if there's a group of CMs in one person's cabin for some trouble they need to be reached for another bit of trouble.

We were on Royal and some teen couldn't be found. They interrupted sleep at least two times looking for him. (And then according to ship gossip the stinker was in his grandma's room but no one in his family thought to check there) Because he could have been anywhere and they had to know.

We just had two codes on the EBTA.
Code red at 3am- there was a fire in the kitchen of Carioca's(sp). Minor and put out quickly.
Bright star- medical emergency the last night around 11pm in Fathoms.

Both went to all staterooms.

There was Bright star at the Mickey Pool last week on the Fantasy.
