Emerald Reserve...Minivans

Just got a great rate thru National on a minivan (8/10-8/18 $367). What kind of minivans are there? ANy Sienna's or luxury suv's in the minivan row??? GM products come with DVD players???

Sorry - I can't help you with what is on the EA...but I did have a quick question...what codes did you use to get your great rate? I am trying to book a minivan for a friend who is going in late August and I would love to see a rate like yours pop up for her.

Last year when we got a minivan through National, the majority were Chevy Ventures. There was another make, but I don't remember what it was, but it wasn't a Sienna. The Emerald Reserve minivan aisle had only minivans, no luxury SUVs. At that time none had DVD players, I would think most rental car agencies wouldn't get that option on their rental fleet. (Of course I could be wrong!)

Not sure if you only want national, but Thrifty has a minivan for your dates for a total of $310 (with SAMS code). Dollar has the Southwest special for $288. But, to answer your question, I just did E. Reserve minivan in orlando last month. I believe that I only saw uplanders in the aisle. Ours did have the DVD player.

thanks for the tip...i checked my dates like you said...Thrifty was $310 and Dollar was $333. Is it worth it (NAtional $367, Emerald Reserve service, DVD in Minivan, etc) to keep this ressie, go with Thrifty (off-site, shuttle) and save $57, or go with Dollar (in terminal) and save $34??? National has bigger minivans, correct?
Any thoughts???

Dollar code WN333 brings the rate down to $288. Not sure about minivan sizes, but the convenience of National might be worth the price. Also, not sure if all National vans come with DVD players, just sure about mine.

Thanks for the codes...I am picking up at 10:00 AM and returning 4:00PM. So actually Thrifty is $354 and Dollar is $333 and My National ressie is for $367

For our Feb & May 06 trips we got Buick Terzzas (sp?) They had leather & a DVD player.

We picked that over a Venture or Caravan.

To answer the original question...National carries for the most part an all GM/Chrysler fleet, so expect to see many GM minivans (Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac Montana SV6, Buick Terazza, Saturn Vue) all of which include STANDARD (yes meaning that even the rental cars have them ) rearseat DVD players. Also, expect to see a few Dodge Grand Caravans, that usually will not have DVD players, as they are a pricey option on the van....

You might want to check to see if either National or Dollar rate includes the additional driver if you are going to need one. That can add 8.00 a day to the rate.
