What can you tell me about Emerald Island? Also anyone stay here and at Windsor Hiills willing to compare the two

We stayed in a pool house at Emerald Island and loved it. The subdivision is very nice and well kept. It's a very short distance(5 minutes) to the AK. In the house that we rented there were 2 master suites and 1 more bathroom that the other 2 bds shared. The kitchen was well equipped and the family room/dining room were nice too.
The girls loved the pool in the backyard. The garage was converted to a game room and the laundry was there too. I think we paid about 160/night.
We had a great time. We haven't stayed there again because my husband hasn't been able to come back with us. I think that it's definitely worth trying out for a trip.
Sorry that I can't compare it to WH.

We've had nothing but good experiences staying at Emerald Island. We have also stayed at Terra Verde, and this time we're planning on Windsor Hills. Not because we weren't happy with either of the resorts, but because we just wanted to try something new.

EI is in a great location...close to everything. Parks, restaurants, grocery stores, Walgreen's, etc. If you look at vrbo, you will find a lot of rentals offered and often times they show pictures of the resort as well.

The only downside is if you are planning on renting a townhouse, I believe that they are the ones that do not have a splash pool/spa. The townhomes in some of the other communities, such as Terra Verde, do. Although there is a nice community pool, so you'll have somewhere to swim either way!

Good luck...I'm sure you will love it there!

We have stayed in EI twice and WH once. We loved EI -- new, quiet, great location, safe, great homes. The 6 bed homes in EI tend to have more bathrooms than the 6 bed homes in WH, and the MB tubs are larger than in WH.

But we are going back to WH mainly because of WH's pool complex. We didn't use it all that much (we rent private homes with pools) but it was nice to have it there. WH felt more like a resort to us, with people walking all around, a sundry shop, elaborate playgrounds, pool with slides and water features, etc. We never met anyone while at EI but the kids met other kids at WH.

If we didn't use these amenities I would say there is virtually no difference betwen the two. Some say WH is "closer" to WDW than EI but they are basically neighbors so 1/4 mile doesn't make much of a difference to me.

We have stayed in EI for the past two years and we have nothing but good reviews on the pool home we stayed in. My kids loved coming home from the park and swimming. THey loved waking up and eating breakfast and swimming. The neighborhood is ultra quiet and very peaceful. NO loud noise or music. It may have been the time of year we went but we have always had a wonderful experience.

Our pool home was set up the same way as Rie's mom. We really enjoyed having the bathroom right off of the pool. I could have everyone get changed without having to drip water all over the tile floors. Also we loved having a bbq grill to slap some steaks on as well while the kids swam.
Location is great you are close to shopping, food and really close to the Disney side of things. Love Love it

Now we are trying to find a townhome with more resort style ameneties. We do not plan to hit the parks or attractions heavy this year but want a resort with amenities so that we can enjoy the complex and such. We are looking at WH or Regal Palms as well.
