Emerald Club Membership question??

I was just re-checking car rental rates and it seems that I can now get a lower rate with National than my original Budget rez. What I was wondering is if I sign up for Emerald Isle now through Mousesaver's link will I be able to use it in Orlando in 2 weeks? It says that I would recieve a membership kit in 4-6 weeks. Has anyone done this at the last minute and been able to take advantage of the membership? I would like to get the benefit of not paying for the additional driver.

We are leaving in 3 weeks and I had this same question 2 weeks ago when I was contemplating joining the Emerald Club. I called them up and they said that you would immediatly receive your number and that was all you need (along with a credit card and driver's license when you pick up the car). I joined on-line through the mousesavers.com link and could print out a "card" right away.

Thanks mnhockeymom! I will go ahead and sign up. I figure it will save us a least $5 a day for the addl. driver. Every little bit adds up.

No problem!!! Sign up online, you will have your member number immediately and you can use it immediately. You will not need the card as your license and credit card are linked to the EC number.
