Could someone tell me the ins and outs of Emerald Aisle, I don't have a clue what this is.

Thanks
:D

for the most part you get there, you go where the cars are you get in one drive to the gate give the person your paper work or ID (can't quite remember)& drive away. you have to book a fullsize car or standard, but you could get better.

With the latest changes to Emerald Aisle you may book an intermediate and you will get an intermediate or possibly better. If you require a full size, a mini van, SUV, etc it is best to reserve that specific type. Previously with EA you could reserve with intermediate or full size and if no full size were available you could take one from the full size aisle.

At the airport you proceed to the garage and take the car of your choice from EA. As stated previously you are guaranteed an intermediate, but other upgrades may be available. You head (in car) to the gate and they process your paperwork and you are off.

An example how convenient and quick Emarald Aisle is............

We do carry on luggage only to Orlando(MCO) ............from the time you get off the plane...............until you are in your rental car and on the way to WDW.............it is only about 10 minutes total.;)

Emeral Isle (EA for short) is the express checkin program at National. Each car company has a similar program.

You must become a member to avail yourself of any perks. Officially, is costs money to join EA. HOwever, you can go to Mary's site (Mousesavers.com) and she shows you how to sign up for free.

You supposedly get discounts by being an EA member, but IMO the best is bypassing the counter and getting on your way.

The above posters have mentioned the details.

Mousesavers.com has a lot of information on how to use the National web site to save money.

I hope I wasn't too basic.

Thanks everyone :)

Sounds very convenient. I booked an intermediate with National just last week using the WWEB code and BJs coupon and got it for $202 for 9 days (11/28-12/7). I'll check out Mary's site and see if I can become an EA member for free. Would I have to rebook the car if I become an EA after booking?

Thanks for all the info, this site is great for saving $$$ and learning the inside tricks :smooth:

Rebooking could mess up your reservation. I would suggest calling National once you get your number and having try to have them put the EA info on the existing reservation.

I have always just taken my coupon to the car and given it to the guy in the booth as I check out. Never had any problem.

I went to Mary's site and did the free EA membership. Then rebooked my ressie. It turns out my first rate was generated using an upgrade coupon from compact to intermediate. Since that doesn't work for EA I used a $15 off plus the BJ corporate ID and ended up with 9 days (11/28-12/7) at $203.64 ($1.60 more than my orig. ressie). I'm happy, but will continue to check rates. I idea of just getting in a car and driving away sounds fabulous.

Thanks for all the help

How are you getting that rate for 9 days? I am renting from 11/27 to 12/6 and the lowest I could get using all the codes I could find is $264.05. Please help me. Thanks. Jane

For Corporate ID I enter BJs Discount # 5129799
For Coupon ID I enter BJs $15 off coupon PC# 10008357

I hope that helps. (You should have the actual coupon with you when you go)

You will also need your BJ's member card.

Gail,

Hope you had a great trip! How did it work out with your Disney Club discount?

Had a very nice time, thanks. Worked out fine with the DC discount, after some confusion. I wrote about it on the ongoing thread about "what have you seen on the EA".
