Hi, I have an Emerald Aisle reservation (pick-up at Miami International if that makes a difference), but I will need hubby to share in the driving. I know as an Emerald Club member my spouse can also drive for free, but does he have to show his license and be officially added? If so, can that be done at the exit when I finalize the paperwork, or do I have to find a National desk to do that at?

The spouse is automatically added. If you want to be safe, hand them both DL's when you get to the booth and let them know that you will both be driving....

I personally just hand over my DL.

Correct. Everythime I try to hand over both D/L, they only take mine stating that spouses are included.

That's great, thanks! It should be a nice and speedy pick-up then!

I always give them both driver's licenses and they add my DH to the rental. I would give them both DL at the booth. I go to FL and rent from National at MCO 3+ times a year and have never had them tell me that they didn't need DH's license.

I see people mentioning giving the spouse's DL...but, and this might be a really stupid question, but here I go...does the spouse have to be there? Like if DH picked it up, could I send my DL along with him and it would be OK?

My husband flew in to Florida a few days after me with my oldest son... I had to go back to the rental counter with him and his Drivers license. (what a pain) This was back in 2008. He flew into a different airport than me... We ended up being able to go to the local National counter, close to where we were staying and added him there. (1st time on the Emerald Aisle) Now that we have rented since we didn't have to show his license or vise versa as they have ALL that info on hand.

Long story short... I think that 1st time as members we needed to both show up in person.
