Embrodiery Machines.... please help.

I am looking for an embrodiery machine so i can make the mickey head shirts and so I can personalize things for my son. I have looked at the brother sd400 but it says the loop is 4x4 does that mean it can only make a 4x4 design? I cannot spend a ton of money so I need one that is under $500.

Any suggestions?

Yes, that is what it means. A new machine with a 5X7 hoop would most likely be around $800 or so. Some members of the DisBoutique thread have bought thier machine from HSN and put them on time payment. Some have used Craigs list. Do you have a local sewing store? You may find one that is used. At our shop, she had a nice 4X4 janome for $400, to give you an idea.
